We spent several days of our August 2013 honeymoon at Camp Moremi. Having missed a flight in, when we did arrive, the welcome was overwhelming. The friendliness of the staff, wildlife knowledge, the location and serene well arranged grounds, matched the efficiency of the operation. 30 Staff serve a maximum of 24 guests. We made our viewing preferences known immediately, so the drives and commentary did the business. The food was very good, though it couldn't quite match everything else about this place and the staff try so hard to please, criticism by rich westerners seems completely churlish. Few Brits, but people who come to this area seem to share ideas, so we mixed in nicely.
Rooms are large tents on raised decks about 20 metres apart in wooded areas. No heating or AC (why would you?). They include plenty of windows, lobby, loo and shower, all within the mosi protected zone.Nicely furnished in an African minimalist style, with king sized beds, there is an external deck for getting even closer to the animals. .
Location is right on the edge of permanent flowing clean delta water and only a few minutes from the air strip.
The grounds are well landscaped to blend in with the surrounding woodland.
Boma for breakfast and tea; dinner in the main central building with a bit of local entertainment thrown in. Enjoyable.
Separate high deck overlooks the delta and you can see a very long way.
Discreet decent sized swimming pool.
Animals roam through the camp at night, though they try to keep elephants out.
Toyota vehicles in good nick carry 6 people, morning coffee/tea, biscuits and sundowners/nibbles of your choice, all thrown in.
Very different from Chobe with much lower winter elephant and giraffe density but the scenery is more varied and fewer people. Birding fantastic.

We were privilege to spend 3 nights here in September and what a wonderful time we had. The staff are really friendly and feel like they are happy to make sure you have a good time. The lodge is newly revamped and the rooms are beautiful. Clean and spacious with a double shower looking out on the plains of Africa, stunning. They are tented with wooden frames lots of plug points, half decent wifi and a great bed. We had an amazing guide in Vasco who was full of information. The animal sightings were better than amazing we saw things that we could only imagine, once in a life time. I am only giving 4 stars for the following reasons. 1) I saw no reason why we could not start at 6 instead of 7am – we travelled to Botswana to see animals, not eat, not to sit by the pool and not to rest in the room. 2) There are no activities in the afternoon so you go out at 7 back by 11 and out again 330 back by 630 pm, there should be an afternoon activity. I understand the guides can only work 8 hours and I understand that the idea is to keep the same guide while you are at the lodge but we went to see the animals and paid a lot of money to do it. We did not do any of the river safaris but we did do the day safari which I highly recommend, it’s a long day but well worth it. 3) The food overall was average at best, we did not go for the food and the staff seem to be over zealous in that you must eat and at specific times. Not everyone wants or can eat at 1130 or 730 pm on the dot there needs to be flexibility. Would love to go back one day, it was exciting and exhilarating getting so close to these magnificent creatures. For the viewings would highly recommend.

Our three night stay here was the most amazing experience. The staff ensured everything we needed was taken care of with a smile on their face. It felt like family! Meals were yummy and nutritious and penny of drinks always available. Lovely outdoor pool is the perfect place to cool down in the heat of the day. Accommodation is glampIng at it's best. Secluded, quiet but with everything you need included, even a bathroom. The game drives were very special with the guides being experienced and knowledgeable about the wildlife, birds, plants, etc. we were able to do two every day including one on water. Saw lots of wonderful animals including leopards mating! nothing but praise for everything at Moremi Lodge. And hope I get back one day soon.

We visited in March, some 8 months ahead of the Camp's refurbishment this November (what we were told), and for my wife and I it is well overdue. Whilst the main tented bedroom area was well maintained the bathroom toilet leaked from the soil pipe, the tap and shower water ran brown, there were holes in the mosquito netting and the swimming pool was completely out of bounds with the shell excavated with renovation work on-going. It is somewhat disappointing that we were not advised of this prior to arrival and, whilst the pool at the adjoining property was offered for use, we didn't feel comfortable with the hassle or inconvenience of having to be ferried between the two lodges. For some reason the average client age was probably mid-sixties (against us being 49 & 50) and this, unfortunately, appears to set the tone for the guides in our view. Our guide was KT and whilst very knowledgeable, accommodating and flexible he was somewhat serious and a little too formal to allow us to ever feel completely relaxed (in complete contrast with Obed at Savute Safari Lodge who offered the same level of professionalism whilst being fun). KT was a great guide in terms of finding some wonderful game at a difficult time of the season when the flora and fauna is beautifully lush and provides excellent cover for the animals including lions, zebra, impala, hippos, lots of elephants, a herd of 200+ buffalo, kudu, giraffe, a lone wildebeest, however in contrast with Savute most of the animals were either singular or in very small groups (except the buffalo). This is clearly nothing KT could have controlled but the game viewing at Savute was far superior to Moremi. Interestingly, the same also appears to apply to bird life, which was a surprise given the delta. We did enjoy a nice boat ride down the delta and got some great photos of an old bull elephant feeding on waterlilies but outside of this gentle giant the wildlife was pretty scarce. The staff were all lovely and one of the young trainee managers (Lopsey) went out of his way to build a presentation based around wildlife photos he'd take where he shared some interesting new facts that provided quite informative. The manageress (and forgive the fact we can’t recall your name) was engaging, funny and warm. We didn't particularly enjoy the evening dining seating arrangements where we were seated with other guests that we'd not undertaken safari drives with, especially when we had the pleasure of being told by some Australian women how much the Aussies hate the British, no sorry English, because she had a Scottish guest in her vehicle, and then tried to make a joke around cricket and Poms - highly offensive. The lodge staff should have matched the quests more appropriately by age and character accepting this can be difficult but it’s their job to `know their guests’. All in all, still an enjoyable stay with the landscape around the Camp being beautiful and diverse but, for us, the Camp was a little worn around the edges, the guide a little too formal and the clients at the time of our visit simply mis-matched to what we were looking for. I have subsequently been contacted by the Camp management following my survey feedback to advise that two young couples arrived the day after we'd left; ce le vie! With the Camp refurbished I would still only rate it 4 star against Savute, which met and exceeded every requirement leading to a 5-star award. Sorry Moremi management team, I know you try hard and we were immensely grateful for the champagne but the experience fell short against expectations.

This was our first tented Camp in Africa. Tents were well-appointed and secure, with built-in ensuites and mosquito nets. Safes are provided, but ours was faulty. They even did our laundry! Friendly, knowledgeable, trustowrthy staff who seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs. Food was fantastic, with entertainment each night in the main communal building. Animals roam through the camp at night, so you are escorted to and from your tent between dusk and dawn for safety reasons. Was great to see animals and birds during game drives and from the waterways. Very hot and humid when we were there, so the communal plunge pool came in very handy. Guests come from all over the world and seemed to mix well.
