The service was poor.
The poor service started with the attempt to get a reservation online and then having to call their reservation line, where I waited on hold for 22 minutes without any answer. I ended up sending an email to the staff asking for a confirmation and never got a reply.
When I arrived at 4:00P, my room was not ready. They confirmed that I had a reservation, it's just that my room was not ready. Stuff happens, so it wasn't an issue...at first. For the friends I was traveling with, they were able to promptly enter their room. After waiting 45 minutes to enter my room, no accommodation was made. I ended up having to leave my baggage in their backroom so we could all go to dinner.
When we returned to the property at 9:00P after dinner and watching the Phoenix Suns game, one would think a service-oriented company would deliver my baggage to my room. Something. Anything. Nope. I had to wait for someone from security to open the reception area so that I could access my baggage in their backroom.
The property is tucked behind a strip mall. It has nice views, but not worth paying a premium as compared to many other wonderful properties in and around Sedona. The property is run down, but the room I stayed in appeared to have been remodeled.
I would check out any number of the other delightful properties in the area before staying at The Orchards Inn.
After mixed TA reviews, my husband and I were not sure what to expect during our recent Orchards Inn Sedona stay. Upon first entry into our premium junior suite king room, red rocks welcomed us from the top floor balcony! The scenery outside was so breathtakingly beautiful, we enjoyed the view before unpacking. While the bathroom and kitchenette could use a facelift, they served our purpose during a one week stay. A beehive fireplace was appreciated during the May cool nights. Complimentary coffee and bottled water in the lobby were pleasant additions! With friendly service, great location to nearby restaurants, and beautiful red rock views, I look forward to another stay at OI.
Accommodations were very good. View from the room was fantastic and the location was great... right next to all the shops. Disappointed that the pool was not open and was not told this until after we had left for the trip. This was a big negative. Other than that, the hotel and staff were great.
Overall a nice stay. Nice views. Not thrilled to have others guests dogs sharing the half dead grassy area behind my room. Lack of parking was an issue the first night but not the second or third night. A little pricey for what you get but the location was key!
This was our last stop in Arizona, and we were hoping for a leisurely day by the pool, combined with shopping and dinner. Very disappointed that the pool was closed as it was 93° that day!! Would have been nice, if the hotel had offered meal vouchers at local coffee shops or restaurants for our inconvenience. Hotel was very nice however. Staff friendly! Room/bathroom clean, and had a beautiful view. No elevator, but the beds were very comfortable.
