I don't think I can add much more to all the other fantastic reviews but just to reiterate that this place really is perfect. The staff are really friendly and nothing is a problem for them. The rooms are comfortable with everything you could possibly need and the fact that you are in a quiet residential area adds to the charm. Breakfasts were outstanding with so much choice to choose from and the sundowners in the evening were a great opportunity to mingle with other guests if you wished to or to enjoy on your balcony. A special mention to Clare who suggested some great restaurants and then booked our reservations and taxis and was basically our private concierge, thanks to Eric and Zuko who were the security guys who welcomed us back each evening with a smile, to Kenneth, Liston, Steffi, Klaus and Chris who were always so polite, efficient and catered to your every whim. Lastly, special thanks to all the rest of the staff who are one big family and were always happy to see you. We will definitely be back.

Excellence comes in many forms. For the 2Inn1 Kensington, it is in terms of service and warmth. The entire staff made my wife and I feel comfortable and pampered, without being overwhelmed.
But before talking about this, let me briefly describe other aspects of this charming ten-room hotel. The room, a luxury double room, was quite nice, with a lovely balcony overlooking Lion’s Head peak that is part of Table Mountain and a park containing the prime minister’s house. The bed was large and comfortable and there was sufficient storage space for suitcases and clothes. The bathroom was more than adequate with a stand-alone shower and, again, adequate storage space for the toiletries. The breakfast was very pleasant with a substantial cold buffet containing several cereals, fruit, juices, and breads. Additionally, there was a small menu containing hot breakfasts from which to choose, as well as a daily special. The room, the breakfast, and the various common areas of the hotel, while certainly very nice and well above average, are not what puts this hotel in the excellent category.
As stated above, the service and warmth makes this hotel stand out from most others and makes it a must when traveling to Cape Town. The desire to assist in a sincere and warm manner is ingrained in every staff from the owners, Klaus and Chris, to management (Steffi and Claire), and all the other staff. The level of assistance and care can be shown by just three rather small examples. One morning I was questioning Steffi about a restaurant for dinner when Klaus, who obviously overheard our conversation, came out of the office with a copy of the menu. On another day, as I was going to the office to ask for an envelope, I ran into one of the groundskeepers/general assistants who immediately asked if he could get me a drink or provide me with any other service. Finally, the hotel provides you with a small cell phone with the phone numbers of the hotel and its preferred taxi service pre-programmed into the phone. Now, that is what I call service. Oh, and before I forget, the daily, complimentary happy hour is very pleasant and helped us meet some of the other guests.
In summary, my wife and I felt as if we had a personal concierge during our stay at the 2Inn1 Kensington.

Was fortunate to stay two nights at the 2inn1 Kensington with my honey in a deluxe king bedroom. Two factors that set this unique property apart from the others is their superior service and long term staff that really enjoy their jobs. Because the staff is satisfied; outstanding service is the norm. Since the 2inn1 doesn’t have lots of rooms, the challenge is to obtain a reservation. Satisfied guests return annually because they know what to expect at a five star property. Services that are far above the norm are included cocktails and snacks in the evening, beverages in the rooms, concierge level local travel services, customized breakfast and all are included in the daily rate.
My honey and I travel the world 60% of the year and the 2inn1 rates as one of our favorite stays. The very safe location: pool, spa and outdoor area; nicely appointed rooms; and the Owner, Klaus, Manger, Steffi and their team, makes the 2inn1 a must stay in Cape Town.

Room Tip: All the rooms are good, but the second story room over the pool has great views.

We read a lot of TripAdvisor reviews and so had high expectations of 2Inn1 before we arrived. We stayed for 5 nights in mid-August, while sightseeing in Capetown and have to stay that the Inn exceeded even the glowing reviews posted here.
The furnishings are contemporary and trendy, the breakfasts were delicious, and complimentary happy hour a treat. The inn is nestled right into the mountain so the views are fabulous. However, It is the service that sets the guesthouse far above the rest. We have never received such individual and attentive booking assistance at any hotel. It was less like speaking to a formal hotel concierge and more like staying at a good friend’s house who makes you a huge breakfast and then helps you plan your day and gives you the inside scoop of where to eat and what to see. Klaus and his staff handled our dinner reservations, arranged rides, and gave us great suggestions each day. We arrived at the hotel and were handed a folder with our requested restaurant reservations already prepared for us. When we decided to hike Lion’s Head one day Klaus personally gave us a lift to the trailhead. [Klaus even emailed me after we left to let me know I left my camera charger!] When we left the hotel in the early morning or came home late there was always staff available to greet us, answer our questions and offer us a drink. We visited both the Cape Grace and the Mount Nelson, two hotels we also considered, and I am so glad we forewent this traditional stuffiness for the crisp, modern and personal 2Inn1.
One of my concerns about the hotel was the location. For our first trip to Capetown I thought we might want to be right on the Waterfront. This proved to be no problem at all. It was easy and inexpensive to get a cab to the waterfront. The restaurants and museums located within the city bowl were actually much more accessible from the 2Inn1 then they would have been from the V&A Waterfront.

This was our second visit to the 2inn1 and we received a very warm welcome, Klaus really knows how to run a top class hotel and has a great team with him, Steffi and Claire rightly get a lot of plaudits but all the other housekeeping, pool and night staff deserve a mention too. Steffi and Claire provide a concierge service any hotel anywhere would be proud of, things are done in an instant, often when they are supervising breakfast and appearing totally unhurried whilst chatting to guests, like the serene swan who is paddling hard under the surface! We must mention Klaus' partner Chris who is always welcoming and came to find us on our last morning as he had to go out, a lovely touch.
We originally booked 4 nights for another visit next year, as we drove away we realised that 7 would be much better, they could only just fit us in though, early booking is essential.
