We booked this small boutique hotel for a week’s stay at the beginning of April based on excellent Tripadvisor reviews, but thinking can it really be as good as they say? We were not disappointed and if anything, 2inn1 Kensington exceeded our expectations.

As other reviewers have mentioned, 2inn1 is truly service orientated. Without exception the team is extraordinarily attentive, with a genuine desire to ensure your stay is relaxing and memorable. The breakfast is excellent with a wide choice of cold and cooked to order items. Complementary sundowners between 6pm-8pm were a lovely way to wind down. Claire and Steffi gave us some excellent restaurant recommendations, including booking for us and arranging taxis where needed (there are several lovely restaurants within walking distance). The local mobile in the room was a great bonus and made it easy to call for taxis when we were out and about.

The hotel is spotless and exceptionally well maintained. Most rooms have a private terrace or balcony and we loved our view of Lion’s Head and Table Mountain.

Thank you Klaus, Chris, Steffi, Claire and team for making our stay in Cape Town so enjoyable. We can’t wait to return.

We're a family of 4 and booked a regular room for the kids and a superior room for us. Stayed 4 nights.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, all the team made sure that we were well looked after. On arrival in cool Cape Town, the underfloor room heating made the room cozy, just what was needed. In a previous guest house we'd arrived into a freezing room and spent an hour getting the heating working.

The room and bathroom was so spotless that we asked whether anyone had ever used it before! Apart from the bed being comfy, there were great little touches that make a great impression. Adaptors for plugs in the rooms - no need to ask - free drinks in the evening, the local mobile phone, offer of a late checkout - no need to ask - etc etc. To us, the service was great and the breakfast great but it's the little things that make a difference and nothing was too much trouble.

What I hadn't appreciated from the previous fabulous reviews was that the location in a peaceful residential street is very close to Table Mountain and that the views from the superior room's balcony was so fantastic.

A fabulous guest house, thoroughly deserving of its status on Trip Advisor, I cannot imagine why anyone would wish to stay anywhere else.

Ian

I don't think I can add much more to all the other fantastic reviews but just to reiterate that this place really is perfect. The staff are really friendly and nothing is a problem for them. The rooms are comfortable with everything you could possibly need and the fact that you are in a quiet residential area adds to the charm. Breakfasts were outstanding with so much choice to choose from and the sundowners in the evening were a great opportunity to mingle with other guests if you wished to or to enjoy on your balcony. A special mention to Clare who suggested some great restaurants and then booked our reservations and taxis and was basically our private concierge, thanks to Eric and Zuko who were the security guys who welcomed us back each evening with a smile, to Kenneth, Liston, Steffi, Klaus and Chris who were always so polite, efficient and catered to your every whim. Lastly, special thanks to all the rest of the staff who are one big family and were always happy to see you. We will definitely be back.

My wife and I spent one night here recently on the last day of our vacation.

2inn1 is a lovely boutique hotel with exceptional service, great amenities and very tastefully decorated. We had a lovely delux room with private balcony overlooking Table Mountain and Lion's Head plus the old Govenor's house and garden. An Idyllic location.
Steffi and Claire were extremely helpful and made our stay very pleasant. We were even allowed to use another room for a late checkout at no extra charge enabling us to relax and chillout before our flight home.

Highly recommend 2inn1. Would happily stay here again

Excellence comes in many forms. For the 2Inn1 Kensington, it is in terms of service and warmth. The entire staff made my wife and I feel comfortable and pampered, without being overwhelmed.

But before talking about this, let me briefly describe other aspects of this charming ten-room hotel. The room, a luxury double room, was quite nice, with a lovely balcony overlooking Lion’s Head peak that is part of Table Mountain and a park containing the prime minister’s house. The bed was large and comfortable and there was sufficient storage space for suitcases and clothes. The bathroom was more than adequate with a stand-alone shower and, again, adequate storage space for the toiletries. The breakfast was very pleasant with a substantial cold buffet containing several cereals, fruit, juices, and breads. Additionally, there was a small menu containing hot breakfasts from which to choose, as well as a daily special. The room, the breakfast, and the various common areas of the hotel, while certainly very nice and well above average, are not what puts this hotel in the excellent category.

As stated above, the service and warmth makes this hotel stand out from most others and makes it a must when traveling to Cape Town. The desire to assist in a sincere and warm manner is ingrained in every staff from the owners, Klaus and Chris, to management (Steffi and Claire), and all the other staff. The level of assistance and care can be shown by just three rather small examples. One morning I was questioning Steffi about a restaurant for dinner when Klaus, who obviously overheard our conversation, came out of the office with a copy of the menu. On another day, as I was going to the office to ask for an envelope, I ran into one of the groundskeepers/general assistants who immediately asked if he could get me a drink or provide me with any other service. Finally, the hotel provides you with a small cell phone with the phone numbers of the hotel and its preferred taxi service pre-programmed into the phone. Now, that is what I call service. Oh, and before I forget, the daily, complimentary happy hour is very pleasant and helped us meet some of the other guests.

In summary, my wife and I felt as if we had a personal concierge during our stay at the 2Inn1 Kensington.
