During our stay in Cape Town we were allowed to spend 4 nights in Rosedene Guest House. The hotel is very centrally located and all sights are within a few minutes drive. Innumerable restaurants are also within walking distance. We stayed in the family room, which is actually a row house with its own kitchen. The rooms are lovingly furnished and offer the necessary comfort. Also the living room is cosy and the two wet cells are excellent for a family.

The hotel has a beautiful garden, which invites you to relax. The small pool also offers a wonderful cooling off. The breakfast buffet is extensive and very tasty. The hotel also fulfilled our special request to pack our breakfast for the hike on Table Mountain. Finally, we already started at 06.00 o'clock. Also we could use the daily Wine Tasting.

The always friendly staff is also to be emphasized. From the check-in to the breakfast and the cleaning staff. Everything always helpful and friendly.

Internet signal was strong. Only and alone the electricity failed at times. But unfortunately this is due to the electricity problems of the city. The hotel informed us if always early or installed candles depending on the time of day.

Since we parked our rental car on the hotel's own parking lots, we used exclusively the hotel's recommended driver "Tiger" for the sights in the city center. One of a kind! Tiger is super punctual, always available and a perfect driver. Especially we enjoyed his joy of life! If you feel the same way and want to leave the car behind, book Tiger! You will not regret it!

Many thanks to the whole team - Rosedene Guest House is absolutely recommendable!

Rosedene was wonderful! It was nestled in a cul-de-sac in the perfect neighborhood. The property had several little places to relax, such as outdoor seated, a glassed-in sun room, and a terrace. The breakfast provided was good. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful! Everything we needed was taken care of immediately. They even have a cab service that hangs around in case you need one. Our only small complaint was we booked the budget-friendly room for our short stay, which is located downstairs. We had a hard time sleeping because of noise, as it was close to the reception area, main entrance, and stairs to the upstairs rooms. If we return to Cape Town, we would book one of the more expensive rooms located upstairs, which I think would provide more privacy and quiet. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay!

Overall very good service with friendly and helpful staff.
Tips: 1) The family room at the entrance is a bit noisy at night when other guests arrive or depart.
2) Arrange the breakfast seating in such a way that you do not look at the wall (next to the corridor) when enjoying the lovely breakfast
We will certainly include Rosedene on our list if we are looking for accommodation in Cape Town again

We spent 3 nights at the beginning of our Garden route tour there and had a day room at the end of our trip. The rooms are very comfortable and super clean, the staff is awesome - a special and heartfelt thanks to the evening/night staff! Everyone is just so lovely and welcoming, you instantly feel at home. Breakfast is also very good. Very family friendly - my 3 year old son can be a tazmanian devil, but that was never a problem! Thank you all!

I stayed here for four nights. Request a room that has a window view to Table Mountain (top floor). This is the best thing about the guest house - the view of Table Mountain. Nice facilities and good breakfast. A little far from everything so you will have to take taxis. There are a few good restaurants down the hill from the guest house you can walk to. I would recommend NOT purchasing anything they sell there. I purchased several items, paid for them with a credit card, and three days later I was approached and told "we have a problem." The individual explained that one of the items I had purchased was actually "a lot more" - I was not told how much. I felt so uncomfortable I returned everything. Because the refund was issued days later, I did not get all my money back because the exchange rate had changed. If you choose to stay here, and purchase anything, make them write "final sale" on the receipt or don't buy anything. I found this incident to be very unprofessional and frankly, very distasteful. For that reason, I will not stay here again. Otherwise, the guest house is nice.

Dear V. Thank you for your review. Your experience purchasing some gifts was a most unfortunate incident indeed and my sincerest apologies for the uncomfortable way you felt. The items which are for sale are on commission, and is a way of helping the local community by providing an outlet for their talented handiwork. The proceeds are a much needed contribution to supplement their earnings and for some, it is their livelihoods. We are very pleased you stayed with us and apologize again for the miscommunication regarding your purchase. Kind regards.
