The property is beautiful and we were greeted by a lovely host. Sadly, it all went down hill from there. The head staff member is incredibly rude and unwelcoming. House next door plays loud and obnoxious music form 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., it's so loud it was even heard during our massage sessions. Parking is an issue as well. To top it all off, safe didn't work in our room, there were no bins and the pillows were uncomfortable.

Dear Tana, Thank you for your review, although I do wish that we were not finding out about the issues with your stay in this manner. Especially when our industry has been hit so terribly during the pandemic. If the pillows and interruption during your treatments were mentioned at the time, we would have easily made adjustments, our guests happiness during their stay with us (even if just for one night) is our main concern. In regard to the parking, there is parking in front of our garage. As I mentioned upon your arrival, if there are any issues you are more than welcome to leave your keys with us. As your arrival was not until 2.30pm I am struggling to understand how you heard anything from our neighbours before that time. Our neighbours are very rarely at the property and are now back in Johannesburg. In regard to our staff member being rude, I can only apologise, this is the first time we have had a complaint in this regard and I will address this with her. If you would be so kind as to email me directly to discuss this further I would very much appreciate it. I hope to hear from you soon, Kind Regards, Marnie Fennell 52 De Wet

We had a absolutely blissful stay with couples massage and 3 course dinner cooked by in-house chef Rus. The private suite has amazing views and amenities which we enjoyed to the fullest! Highly recommended!

I cannot say a single negative thing about our recent stay in this hotel.
We booked a studio suite with sea views but on arrival we recieved a complimentary upgrade to their penthouse suite and what an amazing room it was. A huge room, fantastic bathroom and the balcony and views were so good. The sunset from the balcony was breathtaking and we were able to watch a whale simming in the bay (from afar).

All of the staff were incredibly friendly and the whole place has such a relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast was really nice and to eat it whilst looking out towards the ocean was great. They brought the breaksfast.

With regards to location, I felt it was perfect for us. Very quiet but during the day it felt extremely safe walking down to Camps Bay (took us 50mins) with great views most of the way and at night only a 10-15min Uber from Camps Bay which was our preferred place to eat and only cost £2-3 each trip. It is a bit further to the City Centre restaurants but that wasn't an issue for us at all as Ubers are so cheap.

All in all, we enjoyed this hotel immensely and fully intend on returning if(when) we return to SA. Thanks for an amazing stay.

Just stayed at 52 de wet for a week and had the best time ever. The room we stayed in was spacious and had everything we needed.even my wife getting the booking wrong could not spoil the trip as Russell kindly accommodated us in the penthouse suite for an extra night. The room and balcony were stunning. All the staff a very attentive and so polite. A special mention for Georgia who is lovely and makes love gin cocktails in the evening. Russell cooked for us on our first night and the meal was gorgeous. The lemon tart is to die for!! I loved every minute of our stay and will definitely be going back. Russell and Marnie are such a lovely couple and do such a great job with the hotel. I just wish I could have bought one of the bronze sculptures on display which were amazing.

Thank you Adam for your review, it was lovely to meet you both, the team and myself are delighted you enjoyed your stay. Russell's lemon tart has become some what of a staple at 52 De Wet and now often popped into guests rooms as a little turndown gift, I am thrilled that you enjoyed it as much as I do. I hope that we will welcome you again soon and perhaps next time you'll leave with one of Robins sculptures. Best Wishes, Marnie
