The staff here are shocking, they seem to bothered about all the wrong things. I arrived with my son and my mum helped me with luggage as there was no help offered. We stayed in room 24, the door was temperamental so could easily be opened by any one else. I slept with heavy luggage against the door to stop anyone entering. Rooms are dated and need re decorating but I guess with a budget hotel this is expected. Stains on bedding and awful smell throughout the building.
Upon leaving I noticed staff members propping fire doors open with fire extinguishers but they phoned to tell me I’m not following safety measures when my mum came to help me with my luggage to the taxi. I explained we are the same household hence why she’s helping me. Assuming this wouldn’t be an issue. Staff member was rude, ignorant and had poor hygiene.
I hope staff are retrained and take better measures in helping single mums with kid/‘s.
I was unfortunately quite disappointed with this accommodation. It had the usual basic ameneties and the bed and bedding were okay, but the house is situated about 2 blocks from the main accommodation, which is also where the reception is. Breakfast is not served on the premises but also at a restaurant where the main accommodation and reception is. Guests should be informed of this. The room I used had a strange unpleasant smell. I wasn't expecting 3 star accommodation but it would have been nice to have been informed of the set up beforehand. I stayed at another b&b in Kimberley the previous night for exactly the same price so I am comparing apples with apples and this wasn't up to scratch.
Booked a room . During our visit that lasted 4 days our room was only cleaned once. We had no towels in the room. The room was dirty. The tea service display unit was never refilled.
The room was only fitted with a bath that was dated. There were long hair in the bath and on the floor. We requested on two occasions for towels and we are still waiting. They even got our account wrong.
It is a struggle to get access to the guest house after hours even your room gets locked and is then a problem to find someone available to get someone to assist .
Stayed 1 night as part of a tour. Very nice. Each room is unique. Ours had the bath in the bedroom. It was said that Nelson Mandela had slept here. Even he did not, we certainly did and enjoyed it. Very comfortable. Unfortunately while we were there, the hole waterplumbing system in Kimberley broke down and the whole city was without water for the day and the night. Even so, management went out of its way to provide us with enough water in containers. Certainly would have liked to stay another night since there is so much to see in this historic “city that sparkles”.
