We liked it when we got there as the view of Longmere dam from our initial (albeit older) chalet was still stunning but we really loved the resort once we got upgraded into the newly refurbished chalet also with a view to the dam. Had all the amenities (dishwasher, Smart TVs, communal laundry room) and enough room for all of us to relax.
Please note that the dam is not fenced in and there are no lifeguards on duty so if you have an adventurous toddler/child (with no sense of danger as mine was) you need to be on guard all the time and always accompany them for walks along the dam and on the balcony in the main bedroom which does not have a railing and is low enough to climb through. There are lots for kids to do including swings, slides and a trampoline so our tot was happy.
Fantastic spa and Prisca is a gem! And lots of board games available at the reception and for chess lovers, a life-size chessboard on the compound. Would definitely visit again.
In general we were very happy with our stay. Beautiful resort, great views of Longmere Dam (fish-eagles passed our chalet daily), great location, and nice gorgeous bush-shrike on the bird walk. Staff in general very nice, including the staff at the entrance gate. But housekeeping was atrocious. On about the third day they took our towels without ever providing replacement. This left u with 2 towels among 6 people (luckily the reception was helpful and gave us towels meant for swimming as a stop-gap). We also never received any dishwasher soap, so all our dishes had to be washed by hand throughout our stay--frustrating with a dishwasher right there. Only one room had airconditioning, which was also a bit tough over a December/January in the South African Lowveld.
We stayed in one of the recently renovated units. The new units are bright with pastel colours to the décor creating a warm and welcoming ambiance. The attention to detail and quality in the renovations is clearly evident. New additions include a dishwasher in the kitchen and a television in the bedroom. The unit had unlimited wifi internet access which had the kids hooked up all the time. The entire staff team was energetic. Housekeeping was done to perfection. We received a personal hand written welcome note from the manger, which added to the warm welcome we received after the easy check inn process. We enjoyed the resort facilities, which included, adventure golf, tennis courts, games room and the swimming pool, which is ideally located close to the units. Thanks to the management and staff for an amazing relaxing holiday experience.
We had a fantastic stay and would love to go back.
All the staff were outstanding from GM note welcoming us, the housekeeping lady who introduced herself and the groundsman who rushed to clear up a broken bottle on the driveway.
The adventure golf is extremely well maintained. The games room is great, paddling on the dam is great fun and the pool isn’t far from the rooms. Highly recommend Pine Lake Inn.
Booked in for 7 days for two of us. Have a 3 bedroom, 3 storey fully self contained chalet. Daily housekeeping provided. Lovely views across the lake. No restaurant on site but there is a convenience shop that sells basic foodstuffs. We shopped at the Woolworths supermarket a few kilometres south of White River city centre. No laundry in the chalet but there’s a coin operated laundromat on site. Entry and exit of the resort is via a manned security gate. Definitely a quiet and peaceful place.
