Well first the place is great, convinently located, there is a small city around 8 kms south of this place where you can find grocery. the hosts are wonderful. I stayed here for 1 night. they have a communtiy kind of concept where evryone who stays there uses the kitchen and barbecue and dine together. there is a small but clean swimming pool with amazing view. Electricity is a problem in this area but there are backup generators, but the aircons dont work on them...but i think the host and his lovely wife makeup for everything else.

We stayed here for 3 nights and from the time I booked it the staff were so friendly and always answering emails and questions. We booked a river view room and it was very cozy and spacious. The bathroom was spacious as well and we loved the added touch of mini kitchen to prepare food. Our favourite part was making the brai together at night and getting to know the other guests which you don’t get to do often in hotel settings. Everything about this place is amazing. Lots of parking, self serve kitchen, the pool and the views of Kruger Park. We also booked a full day private tour which we highly recommend as the staff book it for you with a knowledgeable guide that takes you around the park. Thanks so much to Ilse and Bruce who were our hosts at the time. Ilse is very friendly and made us feel like we were family! We will be back and wish we could go back tomorrow! Thank you!

We loved it here, our favourite stay of the holiday. Chose it for the proximity to the Kruger gate, but also the views out over the river. Everything about this stay was fantastic. The couple that run the site were both lovely, super friendly and would do anything for you. Check in was prompt, and we were shown to our river front large tented room.

Very happy with the room, plenty of space, comfortable bed, nice bathroom, and even free drinking water provided. There is a water shortage at the moment so we were careful with our usage.

The little pool was great to just relax after a long day of self-driving in Kruger. There is an honesty bar which was handy, although you can also bring in your own drinks too.

Each evening they did a wonderful braai which was presented as a buffet. I had let them know in advance that I was veggie, and had never expected to have a vegetarian food item per se, but they surprised me with some veggie fillets both nights which was such a nice touch. Even without those, there was easily enough veggie food what with the buffet options, and my husband loved the meat from the braai.

It was all very relaxed, sat out around the campfire before and after eating. And we were lucky to see the hippos come out onto the bank at night, the owner had a powerful torch to help us see better. One hippo had an absolutely tiny dot of a baby hippo with it, so lovely to see.

After we went to bed we'd hear the hippos making their funny barking noises, and I got up and could see them right by the fence outside our room.

We also saw various elephants going past right by the property's fence, 2 of whom then waded through to the other side of the river. Also giraffe, buffalo, impala, water buffalo, crocodiles and even an african wildcat!

Such a shame we only had 2 nights here, would absolutely recommend to anyone, thank you so much for looking after us.

This is one of the nicest places I have ever stayed and I have been travelling since the 80's. Bruce and Elsa do an amazing job making sure that everybody is involved and comfortable. The communal BBQ is a fantastic way to get involved, meet people and enjoy the lodge in a friendly, relaxed way. We are both veggies and found that the generous and delicious food provided of an evening was suffice for us. Fridge is packed with wine and beers for 'emergencies'. Small pool, great for a cool off whilst watching what's going on in the river opposite...crocs, birds, elephants, hippos etc.
Stayed for 4 nights in river view rooms whilst doing self drive. Rooms are simple yet comfortable and you will have a great view of the river and the visiting nocturnal hippos from your bed.
Cannot recommend highly enough! Excellent.
