I've been to Faircity a year ago, but still remember the place as it was one of the highlights of my whole SA trip.

Given the notorious reputation of the Johannesburg city center we obvously looked for the hotel in one of the suburb. We new close to nothing about the surroundings and frankly did not plan to walk around in the evening, so one of the top criterias of our choise was various public areas of the hotel and walls around it. Faircity has several drawing rooms, library, restaurant, gym, pool and even its own garden. We were at the hotel by 18:00 every day and spent evnings relaxing in one of the places listed above.

The room was quite spacious, and very causy. I can not say it was luxerious - this is not what we was looking to, but it was very nice to be in, to rest in and to prepare yourself for the day in the city.

I liked the attitude of the staff very much. We were welcomed with smiles, tald about the establisment and acompanied to the room (this is need - we would probably get lost trying to find our room for the fist time). All the way we felt personal touch but did not feel annoed.

The price was more then reasanable and I would glaldy re-visit this hotel if ever return to Johannesburg again.

If you are a frequent business traveller like myself that travels to JHB regularly and relies on a comfy, elegant place to stay with a good location near Sandton - then look no further. This hotel is perfect. From the hospitality, friendly service, delicious dining and hotel amenities; The Faircity Quartermain Hotel is one of Sandton's most understated hotels located in the leafy burb of Morningside.

The Hotel Management (Jerrod the GM and Samir Head of Food & Bev) take very much pride in what they do, always delivering the very highest standards of service across the board to guests.They always go the extra mile to meet your personal needs from a specific dining request or ensuring you have the right bottle of wine in your room on arrival.

The hotel staff from reception, wait staff and porters are always so helpful, engaging and friendly wanting your stay to be the best and most memorable one. Travelling can be very stressful and the friendly faces at QM always make it a whole lot more bearable with their good service and warmth.

The hotel also has an in-house gym that is great for squeezing in a good training session and a lovely swimming pool. The rooms are just comfy and beautiful!

The first time I got a room that was elegant and vintage, but felt like a maze navigating to and from it. This time around the room was easily accessible, and had a great balcony view into the pool area. And every time I get there I tell myself that I'll try the gym, but haven't gotten to it. They should do better with the food prep waiting time.

This hotel is a very good value in Sandton. It is an old hotel, very nice looking, and well maintained. Definitely targeting business people but we were tourists and did not mind much. The food is delicious, especially the breakfast which has a lot of options. Dinner menu is not overpriced at all! The staff is for most friendly (some of them not as much as the others) and they have a very convenient free shuttle service to Sandton City (big shopping mall). Although the rooms are rather clean, the bedsheets and towels are a bit old (stains) and we would recommend they change them. We were a bit disappointed by the pool which is very small and not clean at all so we could not swim. Overall a good stay and security is very tight so you feel safe at all time!

Lovely little hotel with very comfortable public areas and delightful little pool and garden area. Mix up over breakfast on our first morning as brochure and room information declared breakfast from 7am (we were getting picked up for ongoing trip at 8am) - however on reaching restaurant staff told us no entry until 7.30am. Eventually discovered this was due to public holiday but reception staff didn't convey this to us despite several of us asking for explanation. Room was comfortable although one of our beds was missing a leg - replaced with piece of wood we found which served its purpose. Courtesy bus failed to pick us up from town as arranged so we had long wait in an area we weren't sure of before reception staff eventually sent return bus. No huge issues but overall just a little more attention to detail?
