This beautiful resort has a potential to be great but lacks details of 5 star resort.
I would rate this place 4.25 star resort.
Pros:
-Our GEM (general experience manager) Tingi was very attentive.
-Friendly staffs overall.
-Great spa experience with professional staffs.
-Beautiful sunsets every night.
-BBQ night was my favorite dinner.
-Nice room and great cleaning service.
Cons:
-Too many flies everywhere. It’s impossible to eat food without coulple flies on your dish which is quite disturbing.
-We paid $480 for a boat transfer for 2 people which was fine but we shared a boat with their employees which made me feel like I’m in a shuttle bus and not getting 5 star hotel experience.
-They had a sushi and sashimi night and the food they provided was sub par supermarket made sushi which was really disappointing. It honestly tasted like if I made Fijian food which means chef had no idea of how sushi should taste like. Also please don’t call that cabbage thing kimchi as a Korean I cannot remotely relate the taste.
-I was relaxing by the pool and there were couple times staffs are spraying insect repellents for 30 mins which was really loud also another time staffs were mowing the lawn which was quite loud and distracting. I think they should be doing this early in the morning not middle of the day when people are trying to relax by the pool.
-It could have been great if resort was equipped with sun screen and have them available for public use since sun is really strong on this island.
-It could have been great if cold towels were available throughout the resort which I think other 5 star resorts usually provide.
We absolutely loved our short stay at Six Senses Fiji and would certainly recommend this property to others. It really is the definition of 'bare foot luxury'.
Our ocean front villa was clean, comfortable and luxurious and fitted out with everything to make a stay homely and romantic: large private plunge pool, indoor and out door showers, an outdoor oversized bathtub, double vanity, king sized four poster bed with views of the ocean, his and hers wardrobes, safe, lounge area, impressive mini bar along with wine fridge and tea and coffee making facilities (nespresso). For those who need to stay connected there is a TV and super fast wifi. No old fashioned light switches in this room - everything from lights, to blinds to air con and fan at the press of a button. Impressive.
Also impressive is the Resort's commitment (wherever possible) to locally sourced produce, much of which comes from the Resort's very own nursery, herb gardens and orchards. They even have their own chickens (Cluckingham Palace!) and Bee Hives. Breakfast was a particular highlight - the creativity of the Six Senses breakfast has set a new benchmark.
There is so much to do you'd never get bored: world class surfing, scuba diving, snorkelling all within easy access. Hiking trails, yoga, spa, gym, library and so the list would go on. We wished we could have stayed longer to sample everything on offer.
Thank you to Frans and Fiona and the rest of the team. We had a great time!
This was an unbelievable stay, and I felt very lucky to be able to stay here and experience Six Sense 5 star service. We were picked up at the airport and transfer to the island, and everything was coordinated promptly. The staff were so welcoming and greeted us with a little performance and refreshing drinks. The room was super fabulous with its own private pool and outdoor shower & bathtub for nice pics. There are water activities and fire show by the beach during sunset. It's a bit excluded from the main island and nightlife, but perfect for people who seeks adventure and relaxation. The staff also really went out of their way to ensure our stay was pleasant!
The resort was beautiful and the burre's were perfection. The rooms all had private deck and plunge pool, a wonderful modern bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers, wonderful bedding and lots of space. The main area is also beautiful with a dining room, lounge area, pool, stunning beach and crystal clear waters. The service is where they excel, and anything you need or want is only a call away. There are golf carts to transport you around the resort. Our son loved the kids club and the resort is so exclusive that the staff quickly knows everyone and looks out for all the little ones regardless of who the main caretaker is. The spa was wonderful and private- one of the best massages I have ever had. The brick oven pizza is also wonderful. The cultural nights and specialty dining were great. The one issue I have is that the expense for getting to and staying at the resort is only topped by the expense for everything you do once there. Specialty dining is extra, diving is extra, excursions are extra (and not just a little bit- we went on a one tank dive and it was the most expensive dive we have ever done). If you are looking for a honeymoon spot- this is it! For a quiet getaway, this is heaven. For an international cultural journery or for a family adventure trip, there are other resorts that will better suit you.
We have visited Fiji for three times before and experienced unforgettable Six Senses on other destination. Our expectation for this vacation was not fulfilled.
Our GEM was nice and efficient, and all the other hotel staff were friendly. Looking for baby sharks and strolling on the beach in the midst of beautiful sunset were also superb. Our beachfront room and pool was good enough, and we loved lying on the hammock under the stars!
We were just unhappy for the management-trouble of double transportation billing and no final respond for my lost trousers in my bula (yes, they are my favorite ones and became garbage ..).
This resort should become better, however there still remains...
