Our local sub-contractor had booked the Cherry Queen Hotel for us, it is in the center of the town. We had superior (standard rooms) in the original building, at 40 USD per night, and my 2 colleagues rooms (401, 402) suffered from the noise below in the street, loud music, traffic. I was more lucky as my room (405) was not directly above the noisy street. My room was ok except for the very small desk, impossible to work. The arrangement of the bathroom is really silly, sack the interior designer, the toilet roll is located besides the shower and thus gets wet. I did not smell any mould as reported by other reviewers. Enough sockets and light switches in the room. A new building joins the old building, there the better rooms seem to be. The selection of breakfast dishes was limited but thanks to the F&B Manager Ms. Nyein we got bacon every morning. WiFi was not the fastest but ok for my use. As I have not been at any other hotel in Taunggyi I cannot compare Cherry Queen Hotel to other hotels in the center of town but I think 40 USD is too much.
We stay at this hotel only for 1 night. Staffs are really helpful. The rooms are not very spacious but clean. The view of the town from our room is amazing. WiFi is slow. The great thing about breakfast is the availability of the Shan noodle though we had to wait long to get served.
We went there for 1 night after booking at the six floor of nice room. Room is quite bit but when we just arrived there, there is nothing to do for room making, not ready for bed, pillow and even we found a cockroach under the blanket.
So I contact to Reception and also HK department of them, after 35 mins, they came to prepare and no apologies.
I stay here for 4 nights. It was annoying that they asked me to pay in advance where many hotel didn't do that in this country. No hot water and the wifi is terrible.Clean and functional room and bathroom, standard breakfast, nothing special all around. They have a restaurant downstairs which can host functions in the evening and you can hear the noise upstairs if you want to enjoy music. it is not idea
Stayed here for one night in early June 2017. Didn't expect much, and it didn't disappoint in that regard. Pleasant and helpful staff. Clean and functional room and bathroom, standard breakfast, nothing special all around. Internet can be spotty. They have a restaurant downstairs which can host functions in the evening and you can hear the noise upstairts (there was a party the night I stayed, but they finished around 10pm). Not bad for a short business trip, but probably would not choose to stay there again if in Taunggyi for holiday.
