The worst thing is that the noise is mainly caused by the reception staff. It is a low grade hotel so I had brought earplugs just in case there would be noise. Room is otherwise clean and aircon/water heater ok good working condition. Hardly any car parking space despite being advertised as a hotel with parking. This is a serious consideration. I most likely will be checking out other options for my next trip to Penang.
晚上有点吵，最糟糕的是噪音主要是接待人员造成的。 这是一家低档酒店，所以我带了耳塞以防万一会有噪音。 房间干净，空调/热水器好工作状态。 尽管被宣传为带停车位的酒店，但几乎没有任何停车位。 这是一个严肃的考虑因素。 我很有可能会为我下次去槟城旅行时查看其他选项。
The photos will tell u the condition. They should at least have a maintenance for the room to provide a comfortable stay for the customer. Poor management. No other word to describe except POOR. Speechless.
I have stayed at this hotel for over 5 years when the owner managed this hotel. Two years ago he decided to lease the hotel. Under the new management maintenance was poor but the staff were hard working and courteous and polite. They decided to end the lease last year and a new company took over the lease. Under this new management, during a period of six months, all the old staff resigned due to pressure from the management. Even though the maintenance have been done, it is still not perfect. As I got a room on the ground floor next to the reception, I experience a lot of noise until past midnight. Even reprimanding the staff in the open. When I approach the management, they denied it and gave an excuse that it was not them. During this stay, there was no WIFI and I was given a lot of excuses. As a long stay customer, I had enough and the next day I cancel my stay and check out. I will never stay there again.
Checked-in and later after lunch got back to hotel and was greeted by one staff who was overly friendly and asking lots of personal question, of course we can choose to ignore it bit ot was still very uncomfortable. Out for dinner and suddenly received a missed call and whatsapp by this particular staff which we recognise based on the whatsapp photo. Went back to sleep and next day early morning around 7am, we was woken up due to our door being open but luckily we have the door latch on so he didnt manage to open the door. This is really scary as we do not know why he open our door without permission. Still receive call from this staff after checked out so finally block his contact. My advice is for solo female traveller, please think twice on staying here unless they managed their staff properly. Until today, my sister and I are still being haunted by the fact that we dont know what is the reason for the staff who wanted to enter our room and we could only thank god that nothing happened to us that day.
Maybe we were tired after our travels & tour. Must admit the quick action of the counter...just that the 2 lifts are older but still functioning & safe.
Room 1612 comes with a queen size double bed, suitable for couples.
But it was the quietness that surprises us, with the traffic running beside it.
It was a soothing & comfortable night stay. The equipment within are simple & provided but the TV (Singer branded), don't have sound coming from all channels.
Good thing, our main purpose was a quiet rest.
Another that this Hotel could improve were the Breadfast the next morning. I can't be sure how many pieces of (RED) rubber bands I have eaten, that came from the chicken Red curry. I took 3 pictures to illustrate the length of the rubber band stretching the full pointed length of a FORK. We took another latitude wise & another as its original in the curry.
Told it to the staff to let the chef know, but Alas he wasn't interested or not even an apology or better to let the Chef know about these rubberbands within the curry & or remove them from the counter...... BUT NO.!!! Nothing Doing. We were totally surprise., because any other Hotel staff would immediately inform the manageress.
