Thekkady homestay is spotlessly clean. Rooms are a good size. Wet room is good size and very clean. Room was cleaned on day 3. Host is very helpful and knowledgeable of the area. It is located just 500 meters or so from the Periyar tiger reserve and around 150 meters from the booking office.
Kumily centre is 10-15 minute stroll away.

We had a fantastic time at Thekkady homestay. The family were so warm and welcoming, the whole place was so clean, and there was hot water! We are a group of 4 friends and we stayed in the family room which was very spacious and comfortable.
We went on a jeep safari with Habeeb (recommended through the homestay) and we had a really great day!
Stay here - you won’t regret it!

The Thekkady Homestay is operated by the welcoming Abdul, Ayesha and Sohail, often supplemented by their extended family, who live next door. The rooms, located on the third floor are very large, clean and have lovely bathrooms and showers.
The family is exceptionally helpful and hospitable. Although they receive many guests, they have a knack of making you feel special. We were constantly offered lemonade and coffee; the breakfasts we enjoyed were delicious and plentiful.
The location of the guesthouse is convenient, although not picturesque. It would be wonderful if the back outside area, the view from our room, could be made more attractive. Perhaps a later project...
Highly recommended and great value.

Thekkady Homestay is a Very good located place (you can reach easly places of interest for tourist, shops and resturant) managed by Abdul, Basil's father, a nice, Kind and helpful Man. Room has balcony with forest view And bathroom, and is really clean and comfortable. You will find free WiFi, hot water and all you need. I raccomand this place to stay in Thekkady.

The host family, Mr. Abdul and family is quite nice. Mrs. Abdul is too sweet and a bit shy. Rooms are neat. The TV in our room wasn't working, not a big deal since we were mostly outside enjoying Thekkady. The location of this house is perfect, everything is walkable so it's a good experience. All the best eateries at 10 mins walking distance. Do eat Puttu made by aunty, it was yummy. You can also take the Ayurvedic massage downstairs at a discounted rate ,it is safe and good. Monkeys are a bit if a trouble but you can shoo them away. Let Abdul uncle know. Had read a lot about their son, Basil, got to meet him just for a Hello while we left.
I recommend this place!

Dear Rucha Kamat Thanks for taking time to review on us. It's nice to see that you shared a lot of experience that we provide, on the review. You were amazing guest and it was our pleasure hosting you :) P.S: Thanks for letting us to know that TV wasn't working. Our tv and dish is having 2 power buttons to on, till to this time there was no issue with the cable and I think it was probably of power buttons. If you were asked we had made it clear for you and I am really sorry in that case. Sorry for the inconvenience and thumbs up for your wonderful review :) Thanks Basil :) Thekkady Homestay
