Two of us stayed here in a mixed dorm, originally booked for three nights but swiftly added a additional day onto the visit.
The shower was hot, the bathroom and dorms were clean and tidy, the breakfast was spot on, they run a regulated AC time, however when they turn it on they always come into the room to check it’s working ok which is a nice touch.
The owner provided us with a self tour which we completed, if you want to do the park in full, set off early and make a day of it, we got caught in the heat so we had to spread it over two days.
The area has great transport links, busses, metro and also Uber/Ola. We flew into Bangalore and then used the free WiFi in the airport to arrange an Uber as we believed we would have missed the last bus. Uber was 800R for 40Km (this includes any charges & tolls)
The walk to the metro is nice (you can bus it cheaply) , it is around 1.4miles and takes around 20/30mins, the cost of the metro is very reasonable (maps.me doesn’t currently have the metro layer loaded but they have a picture in the hostel). As above there is a small walk to the ‘centre’ however it means that you are away from the noise so it makes for a good nights sleep.
If I returned backpacking to Bangalore I would stay here again.
I stayed here a couple of nights with a friend, the atmosphere was nice we were invited to go out with them to a party and everyone was friendly and welcoming. The female dorm was fine. The only problem was the only shower room in the floor, so we had to wait a lot to take a shower.
I enjoyed my stay at this hostel. It was a little out of the way, but it is in a really nice area of Bangalore. My only complaint would be that the water pressure wasn't very good, and that the other guests that I shared a room with were rude. This wasn't the fault of the hostel itself, but it is something that was significant in how it affected my experience.
I was a little concerned with security, as someone seemed to have broken in to the hostel a few weeks before my stayed occurred. Apparently one of the guests didn't lock the back door when they came back to the hostel late at night. The hostel provided locks, so I was never really worried about the security of my stuff.
Relaxed hostel with decent beds. Shower was hot and powerful enough. Air conditioning in our dorm had a 'mozzie killer' setting which I enjoyed, didn't get bitten so maybe it worked. Location from railway was pretty far, Rs130 in tuktuk, but that's our problem really, not wanting to stay in the more expensive accommodation near station :-). Masala Dosa for bfast looked good but I opted for scrambled eggs, standard but decent. Coffee was a bit rubbish.
My problem with the place was that we were cleared put of the common area at around 10pm, for this guy to come round cleaning. We wanted to do some travel planning and chill but we're left with no area to do this apart from our room where ppl were asleep. Also the staff on at night seemed a bit clueless on travel advice, friendly though :-).
My favourite place so far in India. The service, amenities, and free breakfast are excellent. But the really true great thing about this hostel is the atmosphere. Met so many people and found it hard to leave the hostel even during the day. Stan and co encourage people to get together in evening and join the group on room. Fosters a great atmosphere!
Even showed us around the city - brought us to markets, restaurants, and clubs. Best time in India so far all thanks to them!
Would go back in a heartbeat!
