We just stayed for 2 nights and a little Staycation at the Address Beach Resort, and I'd love to say that it was great — but unfortunately, it wasn't. From our previous stay at other Address's, we expected a much higher standard and well-trained staff. Instead, it felt like we stayed at a 3-star hotel.
Starting with the check-in. We're becoming residents in the UAE and our passports are currently with the government office for visa stamping. We had all provided documents, which we know would suffice, but the staff required several minutes of persuading, as well as involving a (very dismissive) manager to get this done.
Then, going into the room, we noticed that it had an adjacent door. Not only that, but the walls are apparently also made of paper. We could literally hear our neighbors talk and watch TV during the day. We immediately asked for a new room but were told that this was not possible because they were "fully booked".
Only after spending an additional few minutes discussing the matter, and waiting a solid 15 minutes for a call-back from the front desk, we were offered another room. The person on the other end said as somebody would come up immediately with the cards for the new room. This took 20 MINUTES.
Finally arriving into the new room, we immediately notice that the room ALSO HAS AN ADJACENT DOOR. Not only that but there was a gift on the bed for ANOTHER PERSON. At this point, we immediately called reception and told them about it. We skipped over the adjacent door as our neighbors were much quieter, but the gift would be picked up immediately. However, it never was and we took it down AN HOUR LATER ourselves...
Throughout our stay, the jetskis from the beach in front of the hotel were incredibly noisy. From 6 AM in the morning till late, you can hear the motors roaring. All. Day. Long. We were pretty tired of this and spent most of the time at the pool. The first night anyway.
The first day at the pool, everything was okay. The second day, however, we waited a solid 30 MINUTES (!) in front of the final elevator (one of 3 necessary to move from breakfast to the pool), which did not work. We were denied using the (emergency stairs) and nobody from the staff news anything. There were at least about 30 people waiting in a cramped area — some not even wearing their masks — waiting for the pool elevator to function (supposedly at 10 AM).
Eventually, we decided to stop wasting time and just use one of the other pools, for 1.5 hours, before we checked out.
In a final push to complete the complete disappointment that this stay was, we went back to our room after the pool and found OTHER PEOPLE'S LUGGAGE... again we immediately called reception and it took a solid 15-20 minutes for it to be picked up
I really do not understand how a renowned hotel chain such as The Address can have such untrained personnel. Throughout our entire stay, the only good service we received was by Lester at the breakfast buffet. He was a truly excellent host.
Everything else about this stay was an absolute and bitter disappointment. This particular Address hotel should be closed and the entire staff retrained. Absolute nightmare. At checkout, we were ready to provide an opinion about our stay, but the person managing our check-out didn't even bother to ask.
All in all, the staff at the Address Beach Resort is best described as "minimally trained" for "common scenarios". As soon as something goes wrong, they're like a deer in the headlight. Absolutely clueless.
We will NOT be back.
P.S.
To top it off, we also noticed that the minibar "sanitized" seal was broken (i.e. was never cleaned). We also found a long big black hair on the floor of the second room. Not very sanitary. Again, we will NOT be back
