We stayed here for five nights and were pleasantly surprised.
The staff were extremely helpful and attentive, what you would expect at a 4 hotel.
The rooms were very spacious and well equipped. They were clean and of a good standard for a 3 star hotel.
The hotel facilities included a gym which we used daily and were impressed with as well as a swimming pool which whilst we didn't use, was a fair size. I would note this is situated within an indoor courtyard therefore there isn't much room for sunbathing, just a couple of loungers.
Breakfast had a good selection with fruit, cereals, nuts, soups, hot dishes including an egg station where they could make fresh omlettes to order.
Finally it was located centrally and you could walk to the palace easily along with restaurants and cafes nearby, albeit choices in Mandalay are a bit... Limited!
Overall a high standard for a three star hotel and would recommend.
Good hotel although a bit hard to find as it is set on a dusty dirt road back from the main road. Rooms were good, comfortable beds and a great swimming pool. The free breakfast was alright, so l would stay here again.
A relatively new Hotel it is centrally located and has 10+ floors which offer good views of the city.
The bathroom was clean however as there was no shower screen around the bath, the room did seem to get quite wet when showering. Although we had three adults in the room, our room was still spacious and the beds were fine.
The breakfast buffet was great with a large variety of local dishes including pastries, fruit and hot choices. We didn’t take dinner in the hotel so can’t comment on the evening restaurant. The pool was refreshing although as not heated, some might say cold.
A really nice hotel. Very clean, large bedrooms, tea and coffee making facilities and a good range of toiletries. Staff are very nice and welcoming. Pool looked inviting, but it was a bit cold for a dip. Breakfast was fine. I ate in the restaurant one evening, just a toasted sandwich. No one else was there but it still took 25 minutes to make and it was cold. The hotel is well placed and there is a super restaurant next door [to the right], cheap and delicious food. A very comfortable stay.
We stayed at the Victoria Palace in Mandalay for 3 nights. It was centrally located within a long walk to the Royal Palace. The reception staff were very pleasant and check in was quick. The room was clean, spacious and amply furnished. The beds were comfortable. There was a desk and chair, two comfy occasional chairs, and a large wardrobe with plenty of space for clothes storage, a large flat screen TV, a large mirror, a night table, bedside reading lamps and a safe. There was a window on both sides of the room, a rarity. The bathroom was large as well, with an exceedingly comfortable bathtub. A number of toiletries were provided. The air conditioner worked well, with out freezing us, and was quite quiet. Though others had complained of noise, it was not an issue during our stay. What did bother me were the lights left on til 5 AM or so, in the passageway outside our room, with inadequate blackout curtains. The hotel had a surprisingly good gym. There was a treadmill and a bike, plenty of free weights, three excellent weight machines, a weight bench, and plenty of room. In addition there was an adjacent bathroom, clean towels and bottled water handy. We did not use the outdoor pool, though it looked inviting. Unusually, due to the small space the pool was tucked into, there was no room to lounge poolside.
The included breakfasts were a treat. There was a wide variety of foods (yogurt, an omelette station, soup, cereal, breads, fruits, nuts, etc.) to choose from, sufficient even for a gluten free diet. We also had two dinners at the hotel and found the food delicious, the service attentive and the prices reasonable.
