We came down to Belize for our destination wedding. We absolutely loved staying at this resort. It was perfect for our group of 24 people as it wasn't too big and still was able to accommodate everyone's activity preferences. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Since we were there for a week, the kitchenette was helpful. While the resort was too small to have a proper restaurant on-site, they do have a sister resort (Coco Beach $$$) a short walk away that can provide food/bar. Also a food court-type situation across the road on the lagoon side. The food there was excellent! We liked the location set away from the busy town center as it gave us time with our friends and family and peace and quiet. Every staff member was hospitable and friendly. I can't really say how happy we were to discover this little gem. If you are looking for a quiet resort with great food around you, access to all types of activities, great price, and something more than a standard hotel room then Belizean Shores is it! We will go back!
room was more than a room - had a bedroom, bath, kitchen, living space and a loft with beds if you bring children. balcony was large with a table and chairs. if you're used to the mega all inclusive hotels this might not be for you but well kept and maid service was great - thanks Maria. not much for food on the premises but just across the street were three great small places with good food fairly cheap.
We just spent 2 weeks at the resort with friends and family. I can’t say enough good things about it. With only 48 suites, the resort is a nice size the relax and have fun at the same time. No need to get up early to get chairs around the pool! The suites are clean and staff go out of their way to make you feel at home. The landscaping is immaculate and makes you feel like you are in paradise. The location is great, far enough away from the busyness of town but close enough for a quick golf cart ride to explore.
I can’t wait to go back!
Excellent spot for a family Christmas vacation. We had a family of 10 to stay at this resort over the Christmas holiday. We didn't really know what to expect other than what was posted on Trip Advisor. The resort is about 20 minutes from the island airport on bumpy roads. Our travel through the busy town of San Pedro area made us excited about being in a less congested area of town. The resort is about 2 miles North of town. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised.
The grounds are well kept. The property consists of many suites or little apartments. I was told that many people like you and I own these and either live in them or rent them out. The resort manages them. Our next door neighbor was from Wisconsin. They stay on the island 5 months out of the year to avoid the Wisconsin winters. We rented 5 suites - two to a suite. All of our suites had a kitchen, bath, one bedroom, living room and dining area. We were all located in buildings next to one another on the lower level near the pool.
Travel into town and to Secret Beach was via golf cart. The resort had a golf cart rental facility on site. The prices were a little steep, but we wanted the convenience. You can also rent bikes from them for $5 a day.
The staff at the property is very very friendly. They were easy to deal with and very accomodating. There was an issue with the power being out for several hours and they accomodated us fairly. There is a volleyball court, basketball court, tennis court, chess table and a beautiful dock area that has hammocks and a trampoline. You can kayak and other stuff. It was a great stay.
I would go back. Especially in December. The temperatures were in the 80's and very sunny.
The team at Belizean Shores makes sure you have a wonderful time and makes you feel like part of their family. Always take the time to stop by for tours from Tuff E Nuff tours just steps from our beach front room. All of the tour guides made sure we had a blast, from Bird Man, Candy Man, Jesus, and Budda.
Stop by the pool bar and enjoy the team Armando, Chris and AJ. They have a blast and make relaxing easy pool side. Roberty made the room special for our 30th anniversary, the desk team is a great source of information about the island.
It's a must to take a golf cart to town or to Secret Beach. We rented from town, the cost of the on site rental was a little higher than in town.
