What a lovely place. The owner is delightful and prepares a wonderful breakfast delivered to your room. Room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Much better than an anonymous hotel room, this feels like someone went to some lengths to make her guests feel at home. Highly recommended.
We were pleasantly surprised by the spacious apartment in Pension U Kaplicky. It took almost the whole attic of the historic house. It was furnished with wicker and wood, had exposed beams and lots of bright yellow colours and looked very inviting. It was a little difficult to get up the steep stairs with the luggage. As we are older we needed one hand to catch hold of the rail. The mattress was comfortable and we slept well. We could hear the cars rumbling over the cobble stones in the street below us but it didn’t disturb us.
The friendly hostess served breakfast in our room. The first day she brought a delicious ‘apfelstrudel’ that she had baked herself. My husband missed more cold cuts on the plates but it was definitely enough to fill us up.
Parking was available at the side of the house but backing into a narrow drive way was a little challenging.
The location is superb, just in the old center with plenty of restaurants and pubs and all the attractions within walking distance. We never realized how crowded the place would be with people from all over the world.
If you like the ‘old world charm’ you have to stay in this historic building and you will not regret it!
The pension is situated in the centre of Cesky Krumlov. Just take a walk through the wonderful park along the Vltava river and you are in the very heart of the town. we occupied the bigger apartment of two, right in the attic. It is spacious and cozy, with separate bedroom and living room. Everything clean and tidy. The family owning the pension is extremely nice and friendly, the breakfast was brought to us in the morning and tasted delicious. It really feels like home here. The Landlady is an artist, you can enjoy various paintings on the walls and the whole place has an "arty" feel. The baby bed was prepared for us with no problems and we really felt welcome at this place and would highly recommend it to every decent traveler. The only negatives are somehow steep stairs leading to the apartment (especially for families with babies), however, Landlady offered us to leave the stroller at the entrance (inside the house) and thus not have to climb with it. The showerhead in the bathroom needs replacement as well. Apart from this, a great value, great place, great owners. You won't regret staying here when visiting Cesky Krumlov. Highly recommended.
Great room, great location, great service and perfect experience. Very nice and helpfull personal, tasty breakfast to bed. Room is spacy, very cozy and scenic. From Pension it takes you only few steps to be in a town park and just a few minutes to be in a center of Cesky Krumlov.
Barbara is an excellent hostess, the room itself is surprisingly spacious (one sleeps nearly above the Chapel, the apartment is under the roof trusses), equipped with crockery and cuttlery, water kettle and fridge (small deepfreeze included), bathroom with walk-in shower. The breakfasttrolley is jampacked (we even had tosti, extra cake and cups and grapes). Private parking at its ajoining courtyard. On top of this all it is a less than a 5 minute walking distance from the historical centre, which surely makes this guesthouse the best choice given in all Český Krumlov.
