This is what my 8 year's old daughter wrote after visiting Frutt Family Lodge in Oct 2020
Are you looking for a good hotel? Then Frutt Family Lodge is just right for
In the 2nd week of the October holiday, I went to a hotel called Frutt
Family Lodge to sleep there for 2 nights. And I loved it!I will tell you why.
The hotel had a swimming pool, a game room where you can play
bowling, playstation and dots. There was also a sauna that childrens were
not allowed to go in. In the swimming pool, there were three pools in one
place. One is cold, one is warm, and the other one was medium. There was
also a cinema.
The other reason I liked the hotel was that the receptionist welcomed
the customers. The people in the hotel said,”Hello” when they passed by.
The next thing was food. The breakfast was a buffet. The hot chocolate
was nice and hot. The scrambled eggs were smooth and fantastic. The
restaurant was marvellous!
I was also surprised, because the hotel was so clean. The room and the
lobby was sparkling like diamonds, and the rooms smelled so good.
With all those reasons, that’s why you should go to Frutt Family Lodge!

The pool and wellness area are small yet clean and with nice, warm water. The hotel water toys are a nice touch which the little ones appreciate. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff were pleasant and very helpful. The food was tasty however there were not many alternative options and so you are left with eating at the hotel anyway. Overall dining in is quite expensive - the dinner buffet was not too rich. The hotel has a great kid’s room - perfect for little ones when the weather does not permit going outside. It literally has all possible toys you can think of. Definitely appreciated if the weather is bad or your little ones are not too fond of going outside.
The temperature in the rooms was too high and the air was very dry. The thermostat was not working which we reported but the hotel confirmed they had a problem with it and that other guests complained as well. However they did not nothing about it - they could have for example offered a humidifier. It was so hot at night we had to open the window the whole night and since it was snowing, we could not close the window in the morning as there was ice on it :/.
The hotel entrance could be better maintained - it was full of ice and not secure enough. It was so slippery that one of us slipped and fell while carrying a small child. Could have been dangerous. They need to maintain it better to ensure safety.
Btw: it’s not really a pleasant walk from the hotel to the ski slope - you either have to climb up to the gondola or walk trough the tunnel to the other hotel and then some. Not a negative but a reality you have to be prepared for.
You leave the car at the bottom of the mountain.
Take the breathtaking cable car - in our case a white knuckle ride as the wind was blowing hard - and at the top......errr......no roads, no cars....just snow.
Walk across the piste and sledge run and head to the hotel in the small but beautiful village,
The hotel is warm - in every sense - we had a large room overlooking the lake. (frozen with fishermen drilling holes in the ice to catch fish)
We chose the hotel for being child friendly and it was - a toy room, a pool and spa, a friendly family restaurant - all spotless clean.
The staff were great - even though our child wasn't at times in the restaurant the perfect guest (!).
Food was very good and plentiful - buffet options for breakfast and dinner were good and varied.
Ski slopes just a few metres from the front door and long, long sledge run too.
perhaps our best Swiss weekend break experience yet.
I spent almost a week here with my wife and child. We had been once before hence the reason we went back. It’s perfect for skiing with kids. Proximity to pistes for kids is excellent but quite a treck to better pistes if you are good and they are limited.
However the success is the hotel and everything to do and the service! A big thanks goes to Toni for his exceptional attention to his clients and Tim was a great waiter and very polite. Together their team made it feel like a trip that gave parents the feeling of quality time together as a couple but also fun for our little boy. The bowling, cinema, pool and ski club made it one my 4 year old will never forget. The hotel quality and good room size and the service over New Year made it everything we needed for a proper break! If you need a holiday then this place is the answer!
Thanks again to everyone there!

We enjoyed a five-night stay at this superb hotel and spa. We were fortunate enough to have had one of the very best rooms, a two-bedroom suite, in the hotel with amazing 270-degree views of the lake and mountains. The rooms, as with the rest of the hotel, are decorated in simple style with lots of wood. Very comfortably furnished with king size beds and lots of chairs and sofas. More than ample wardrobes and storage including a safe. Spotlessly clean as you would expect, the suite had exceptional facilities including huge bathroom overlooking the lake and mountains, walk-in wet shower room and separate toilet room. With a choice of dining rooms, including a gourmet restaurant, you are spoilt for choice as to what to eat. The buffet style breakfast had just about everything you could think of. The selection of locally sourced cheese was outstanding. In fact, everything that could be was sourced locally and was a feature of the cuisine. This hotel has one of the very largest and best wine cellars in Switzerland, boasting rare wines from classic vintages and has won multiple top rated awards. If wine is your thing, then this is the place to stay. One of the best features of the hotel is the spa, featuring a very large water jet massage pool with jacuzzi, kiddies learning pool, a large hot pool overlooking the lake and mountains, two saunas - a bio-sauna and a Finnish style sauna, a steam room and restrooms, again with superb views. Complimentary hot and cold herb teas with crystallized fruit were a nice touch. Other facilities include a gym, cinema, bowling alley, bike room and ski room. Overall you couldn't wish for much more from a luxury hotel. It is superbly situated with multiple leisure opportunities.
