We had an excellent stay and will visit the resort again. We received fantastic service from the staff. Although we had a problem with the TV remote, this was sorted out efficiently by the staff. The room was clean and well maintained and we had an excellent sea view. We enjoyed the warm water swimming pool. The pool was clean and the facilities were excellent. The cost of food was very acceptable and we had a nice dinner in Hartenbos. We will definitely visit the resort again

I feel the rates are too high for the type of accommodation. Value not too good.
The furniture etc are becoming old and not attractive in certain types. hope the braai areas will be upgraded and windows more cleaned. Some interior decorating does not fit the room.

We have been going to Hartenbos every December since 1995. So sad to see the poor condition of the resort. We stayed in the 6 bed " 2 slaapkamer strandhuise" next to de Branders. First of all the parking does not comply to municipal standards and our car can`t fit into the covered parking bay provided for our unit. The entrance boom to the houses are impractical and one of the passengers have to get out to open the boom with the tag. The paved roads haven`t been cleaned in months and the lawn haven`t been maintained in months. The children can`t play on the lawn due to the thorns everywhere. The patio is so small, 6 people can`t sit on the patio although the unit is being rented out as unit for 6 people. The braai is cracked and built on the sea view side of the patio. The patio roof is leaking and slippery tiles on the floor. The two bedroom unit have a double bed in the one room and 3 single beds in the other and usually they had a sleeper couch. This year the sleeper couch was replaced with a normal uncomfortable couch for the sixth person. This is not what we payed for - this is a 5 bed unit and not a 6 bed unit. The interior of the unit is old and dated, cracked and chipped tiles, dirty walls, old kitchen, VERY small fridge that`s not working properly, limited DSTV and NO WIFI! The living area is definitely to small for a family of six. The bathroom is old and dirty. The resort is definitely not pedestrian friendly as there are limit pedestrian walkways linking the units and camping site with the new development where all the entertainment facilities are. The pedestrian walkways they do have is so dangerous with road signage that is to low and bumping your head into it, paving is uneven and a lot of tripping hazards. Security not up to scratch! They offer cleaning services at the units, but they only service your unit from Monday to Friday and excluding public holidays. So in our case we stayed from the 26th of Dec until 7 Jan, we only had 6 of the 12 days when they cleaned the unit. With the poor state of the landscaping around the units, the units stay dirty as you walk all the dirt into the unit. The management of this resort seriously need to pay attention as in the 24 years we have been going there, NO significant improvements was made to any of the units and the resort, except for the entertainment area. WAKE UP ATKV Hartenbos it`s 2019!!!
