Write a reviewWe stayed at this Agriturismo as a family of four, part of an organised trip with three other families. The accommodation completely surpassed our expectations - we had a huge apartment with a very large living area, well-equipped kitchen (including good-sized freezer and fridge), a balcony and a terrace to ourselves. The pool was beautifully situated and maintained with amazing views over the valley. We found the location to be good - peaceful and remote but easy to walk to the station (can get trains to Lucca and Pisa) and village (2 restaurants and very good ice cream) and lake (where you can also buy drinks and snacks). To explore the countryside further afield it would be necessary to hire a car to get around (we were transported to the national park, and to places for canyoning and climbing by our tour guide).
The best thing about this agriturismo is the lovely family that look after you there. Alessia was so friendly and kind to us - giving us a warm welcome when we arrived and sending us away at the end of the week with home-baked cookies and cake for the journey! She cooked delicious meals for us all on several evenings, and had baked a different cake for breakfast each day (alongside bread, toast, eggs, yoghurt, cereal etc) and we really felt comfortable sitting and chatting in the shared areas with the other families whilst the children played hide and seek and football together in between the farm buildings. Alessia's hospitality was very generous and we really appreciated it.
There was even the opportunity for the children to make clay pots (and even better, they survived the trip home!) and there are also board games and books to borrow if some indoor time is needed.
Despite the temperatures being above 30 degrees each day, the temperature inside the accommodation was very cool and comfortable and we were also amazed that there was good wifi in such a remote location!
It was just over 1.5hrs from Pisa Airport by car.

Just booked flights to go back again to this idyllic holiday location situated in a fantastic valley just bellow the small sleepy hamlet of Villetta. Borgo del Sole has 4 apartments all beautifully converted by the owners Alessia and Jacopo. The apartments are well appointed, clean and very comfortable, each with an area to sit out and cook on a bar-b-que.
There is a shared pool that is well looked after and a great place to chill out and relax. In the evening you can walk up to Il Grotto, a lovely Pizzeria with tremendous views over the valley and some of the best Pizzas around. A slightly longer wall will take you to Pontecosi a small village beside a large lake.
This is a great pl;ace to take kids who will love the nearby Buffardello Adventures Park as well as one of the local riding schools that arrange treks through the fantastic country side.

We stayed here in the countryside for three weeks in this beautiful part of Tuscany, The group of buildings is split into 4 apartments/cottages with a fantastic infinity pool. We introduced 6 friends who stayed in the eight bedroomed apartment, the cottages are all fantastic and very clean and spacious with outdoor barbeque areas and the owner also stays on site, The railway line is a short walk away and the local shop/restaurant/bar also within walking distance. We do not hire a car but travel on the local train from Pisa which takes approximately one and half hours. Alessia the owner and her family are very friendly and helpful and pick us up and take us to and from the train station with our suitcases and bring us shopping from a local supermarket on arrival. The property is a perfect place for relaxing and unwinding and we will return next year. Many Thanks Dave and Jackie
