Feeling like in the country with great see-sights from the balcony of the 3rd floor room!Great garden with trees and swimming pool area. Good food for a good price although slow serving. Near by the unique Mud Vulcanos from Pâclele Mici. Ask for buckthorn jam if you ever get there, not only for their buckthorn fresh, and for tasty home made donnuts. Yummy!
The room was very nice - large and clean, the terrace pleasant and the pool area also very good & well prepared even though we went there at the beginning of May.
There are also a lot of very nice places to see around - like the Muddy Volcanoes (Paclele Mari), Trovanti - Ulmet (worth seeing -quite unique sight, much less crowded than the muddy volcanoes), the Siriu area. Ask at the reception and they have a pretty good travel guide with the main attractions.
Watch-outs- because of its location, the place cannot afford to hire a lot of personnel. This means they offer "standard" packages- a sort of all -inclusive, which is actually very good. The great thing is that you have the option of ordering outside that standard menu, the not-so-great thing is that each evening, if you have the standard package- you need to have dinner in the restaurant (not on the terrace), and they have a nightly live music program that is rather out of fashion (old Romanian songs mainly).
We spent 3 nights including Christmas here and all in all it was a very good experience.
Nice room recently refurbished, plenty of food for the 3 meals a day, including traditional Romanian winter dishes: 'sarmale'=meat rolls in cabbage leaves, 'toba'=a kind of wide pork sausage, 'piftie'=pork garlic jelly and Romanian plum brandy, 'tuica', white wine and live music. A big Christmas tree and a present (a customized bottle of "tuica") for every family from our hosts' Santa Claus was a nice touch on Christmas night. Christmas carols were sung by 3 different groups so that we could enjoy Christmas in the Romanian way.
We recommend this place if you want to have a taste of the Romanian Christmas food and traditions.
I spent one night at this hotel and I have found more than I have expected.
There is a new wing of hotel wich is looking like a 4* hotel.
The room is arranged with nice taste and is very welcoming. Very soft bed.
View from room very beautifull with the hills and forrests around the hotel.
The restaurant has very good food.
The employees are very helpfull and nice.
The the one who are going at summer there is a pool outside.
I will come back to spend more nights and visit the location.
We stayed one weekend at Caprice in a deluxe double room and we had breakfast and dinner there.
Pluses: very good price; big nice room; centrally located; big terrace in the garden.
What can be improved: music loud on the terrace can be heard from the room - i think is better w/out it; wifi worked one day and the second did not; food is average.
Conclusion: we liked it and we will come back.
