We stayed a week at the Hotel Silvestro, it was our second visit and we chose to stay here again because of location and price.
It is a short walk from the bus station and the check-in is at the Hotel Benaco just across the road from the Hotel Silvestro. The staff are really friendly and offer a welcome drink.
Our room in the Hotel Silvestro was on the first floor and a good size, a fridge in the room is a bonus. There is also a safe in the room , air conditioning was welcome ( it was hot in June) and we had a good wifi connection. We had no view but that did not bother us as we did not intend to spend a lot of time in our room.
There is a hairdryer in the bathroom, toiletries are supplied including toothbrushes and tiny tubes of toothpaste ( just in case you forget yours).
The room was cleaned everyday.
Breakfast was the usual continental fare of sweet things and cold meats and cheese. Coffee is from a machine and usually I find machine coffee undrinkable but the cappuccino from the machine at Hotel Silvestro was so good that I would have two cups.
As stated location is good, turn right as you come out of the hotel and you are in the lovely little Via St. Giovanni, a busy street with restaurants cafes and shops. Turn left and just around the corner you are on the lakeside, again a great area with lots of restaurants and cafes.
We stayed for 2 nights and we love it here. We have been here several times the staff are always friendly and cannot do enough for you. The location is just in the right spot for everything and there is parking if required.
The rooms are always clean and tidy and th room was airy, If WIFI is required its there although you never have time to use it as there is too much to do in Garda. There is plenty for breakfast.
We are looking forwards to our next trip.
This is a well located hotel on the edge of Garda just a minute’s walk to the lake. Our room was clean, tidy and comfortable, albeit quite basic. Breakfast is a typical continental spread available from 8 to 10.30, the options for dinner in the evening were excellent and neither the food nor service could not be faulted. My only negative about the hotel is that being on the main road it can be noisy at night. Although we were at the back away from the road, the police sirens were so loud they sounds like they were in the room with us! Fortunately this didn’t happen every night!
Checked-in is at the Hotel Benaco across the road from the Silvestro, the road is fairly busy but Silvestro is set a good bit back from the road. The lakeside with all the restaurants and historic Garda are very close.
We had a large room facing the road and slept well with no noise disturbing us. We had a fridge and safe in the room and hairdryer was available in the large spacious bathroom.
We did not like the cover on the bed which we found too scratchy.
Breakfast was not the best, the bread rolls were not good and the hot food not very appetizing. Cold meat and cheese were fine and the pastries also were good.
Despite this we would stay here again for the location and value.
3 nights, room for 3 at Hotel Silvestro the annex of The Benaco hotel. Great location minutes from lake, shops, restaurants, ferry stop, bus station. Very good customer service. Asked for help with the fridge plus extra pillow each and this was dealt with right away - no problem. One of our ladies is a smoker and was delighted to find designated area just down the corridor with balcony, table and chairs. The restaurant which is run by another family was very, very good. Breakfast was fabulous and such a nice setting and we had evening meal on our last night which was by far the best we had during our stay. We all loved staying here.
