Hendre House in Llandudno is a fantastic bed and breakfast to stay at. We have stayed at the Hendre quite a few times over the last few years. We thought it was about time to tell other travellers how good this place really is.
Situated in an ideal spot on top of Mostyn Street close to the Empire hotel. Within walking distance of the pier, promenade, bars, restaurants and local shops.
Our most recent stay was on Saturday the 2nd of August for one night. We arrived before lunch and were greeted by the front door by Kate. She showed us up to our room. The room is amazing. A small hall way with bathroom to the right, and the bedroom to the left. The very large bedroom has a double bed with bedside cabinets either side, a two seater sofa, a huge dressing table with plenty of draws and a mirror above. Small flat screen TV mounted on the wall near the dressing table. Tea and coffee making facilities with fresh milk and two home made buttered hot cross buns waiting to be eaten on the dressing table. Delicious! Two built in wardrobes either side of the dressing table with plenty of storage space and coat hangers. Iron and ironing board in one of the wardrobes. Full length mirror on one of the walls. Huge window with secondary glazing and blinds looks down on to Mostyn street below. The bathroom is of a good size with wash basin, toilet and shower cubicle with mira mains shower which is fantastic, very powerful with plenty of hot water. Plenty of clean towels and toiletries. Window in the bathroom also has secondary glazing and blinds. Window looks over the roof tops at the back of the house, you can actually see a glimpse of the sea in the distance.
Unfortunately Hendre doesnt have a parking space. You can park on the road in front of the house for 90 minutes? if you can get a space. We did, Ideal just to get the luggage out of the car. I found a parking space on Abbey road where my car stayed until Sunday morning. Free of charge parking! Beware! Loads of traffic wardens about, even on a Sunday morning, so dont leave your car anywhere longer than permitted. I saw a few cars with parking tickets on Sunday morning.
We had a brilliant nights sleep in the super comfy bed. Didnt hear any noise from outside during the evening, or any noise from the seagulls in the morning! The bedroom and bathroom were spotlessly clean.
Went down for breakfast at 09.30. A lovely table in the dining room over looking the small front garden and Mostyn street. A selection of cereals, fresh fruits and yogurts were available. Also a jug of fresh orange juice on the dining table. Kate took our order for our breakfasts. We had the full cooked welsh breakfast, Three bacon, one sausage, fresh tomatoes, fresh mushrooms, beans and poached egg. Fried egg and black pudding were also available. A selection of toast and a large pot of fresh coffee. Delicious, all freshly cooked by Kates husband Jeff.
Now here comes the best bit about Hendre house. It only has one guest room, thats right, one room. So we were the only guests staying there and having our breakfast the next morning in the dining room, Hence breakfast at 09.30. Kate asks you on arrival what time you would like your breakfast, the choice is yours!
So if your looking for a spotlessly clean, comfortable, and peaceful bed and breakfast in a central location with very friendly owners, look no further. We cant wait to stay at the Hendre again.
Kate and Jeff, thanks again for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home.
