Write a reviewI stayed with my family (wife and 4-year-old daughter) during the weekend. It is quite different considering the context, but everything was perfect. The hotel is clean, and the staff is very considerate. The room size was good for the 3 of us (quite a spacious). Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed, and we did not try the restaurant for dinner. The hotel has some nice restaurants in the area, so it was not a problem. And the breakfast was really good. The area around the hotel is quiet and it seems more business related. So, during the weekend, empty. Not a lot of shops around. But it is good if you want a quiet night of sleep.
For the pool usage during the COVID period, they created a planning. It is not optimal, and it is quite frustrating as people reserve and don’t use it. The hotel should do something different. And of course, guests should be more respectful.

We stayed in a family room.
Pros: very good swimming pool (max 6 ppl at a time) with a special key card to access, good safety measures (1 person/in the lift at a time, sanitizer in the lift!, automatically opening doors from/to garage and friendly staff, DYI gift for kids was nice gesture, welcoming drink.
Cons: expensive parking CHF29/24 hrs. 1 welcoming water bottle (0.5l) for 4 ppl (2 adults + 2 kids), no after shower conditioner and no lotion in the bathroom. Doors of a toilet do not lock from inside. Toilet and the sink were yellowish (not very clean) and this is a 4-star hotel (!)

The location is nice and the tram helps to reach the Cory center in less then 10 minutes.

Located about 1.5 kilometers from the city center . The Novotel is easily one of the most pleasant stays one could have. Large spacious rooms. Modern clean lobbies and super attentive staff. Breakfast full of variety to include pancakes. Walkable distance from tram and rail stations . There are many convenience stores located in the five minute vicinity
The gym is large and located across the pool which is open from 0500-2300. The gym has a few ellipticals and weight rack
I was very happy with my stay here and will certainly return. In particular Valentin and Laura were helpful. Staff is professional and multilingual

The Novotel Zurich City West is a great value in terms of being really close to Zurich HB (central train station). As others have indicated, tram #4 will take you to the city center in about 8 minutes. The trains run frequently. Ask the front desk to get your bearings correct. If you are coming from the airport, that is also an 8-minute direct train ride to Hardbrucke Station. Once you get to Hardbrucke, you'll have to break out Google Maps to get to the hotel by foot. It's about a 10-minute walk, mainly due to being in a new environment. Train travel is so efficient in Switzerland. With that being said, you'll save yourself lots of money staying at this hotel. It's not glamorous and the rooms are small, but it is clean and safe. Downsides to the hotel - a bathroom that does not ventilate so you'll be hot and sweaty after a shower, broken and poorly maintained workout equipment (also poorly ventilated room), the mini-fridge in the exercise room is stocked with mineral water (???), and the pool area is also very moist. Yet, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again because it served as a really nice base for our travel throughout Switzerland. You are in Switzerland! Nothing to be mad about!
