Based on the pictures and the good reviews, I expected something completely different. We had rooms 211, 212 and 213 which are next to each other. All rooms need renovation. Each of the rooms has a staircase for the upper floor, if you don't walk up or down the stairs like on eggshells, it sounds like an earthquake in the room next to it. The rooms are so poorly soundproofed you can actually hear everything. We were there for 3 days during which the room service or housekeeping did not come by in any of our rooms (unmade beds and towels in the bathroom on the floor). The shower head in room 213 splashes water in all directions and needs to be replaced. And last but not least, the entrance is just under 2.2m wide and only for small to medium-sized cars. The staff is friendly and helpful
Nice and central found it easy to find arriving at Florence central train station 5 minutes walk room was big enough to fit 5 of us but was so dreary we had the balcony room upstairs and wife really didn’t like it kids went for breakfast there we didn’t bother they told us we were right no to bother
We have been hosted for three nights and everything has been perfect. The hotel is very well ubicated, near from the center of the city and even nearer from the central train station.
The room was very comfortable and clean, perfect to be after long days of walking.
But the best was the personnel, everybody helped us on our questions and doubts, being very patient and nice always, thanks for all!
We totally recommend Residence La Contessina for being on Florence.
A family owned hotel that would make one feel at home, units are clean with daily cleaners to clean the room and replace towels, beddings etc. The location is very good, almost all the major attractions are walking distance and very near the train station. Will definitely stay again on my next visit to Flrrenze.
The Residence La Contessina is family owned and operated, located in a fabulous location close to the train station and within walking distance to the open air market and the Cathedral. I stayed for 2 nights with a friend and our room was loft style with kitchen, dining and sitting area downstairs with a television. There was also another television upstairs in the loft area where the beds were located. The property is very well kept and charmingly decorated. The daily breakfast offered many options - pastries, eggs, cereal, oatmeal, fresh fruit, juices and coffee. I would definitely recommend staying here!
