Staying here at the moment in a triple room. Absolutely perfect for our needs. Faultless. Cheap bed for a couple of nights and there is a small bar too! Thank you.
Close walking distance to good nightlife! Would stay here again
We had a private triple room. the beds were self builded out of wood so there is a lot of space at the bottom bunk up the the upper bunk. The communal area is composed of open kitchens, reception, tables / couches and a kind of small stage. It was a cozy globetrotting athmosphere. There were also many students temporarily staying at the hostel. I guess there are some little music show at the hostel but we did'nt stayed there in the evening. I did not like the bathrooms. Showers, toilets and sinks were all in a single room, no privacy at all and it could have been cleaner. The hostel is perfectly located in the Sternschanze district, a cool alternative scene area. Just a few tram stops away from St. Pauli and the famous Reeperbahn.
Normally I choose my hostels for the area I want to be , near rail stations and connections with city centres... Well, the day I arrived took me nearly 1 hour find the place because is not a good signane or whatever. Check - in took ages and asked 20 € as deposit for the electronic key but nothing says in website or confirmation e-mail. They give you the sheets to make yourself the bed and explain how everything works. I arrived to my room, AND THE ROOM WAS COMPLETELY OPEN!!!! . The only bed available was one on the top, so when I reached I found earplugs and a packet of tobacco from previous guest, but the receptionist swear to me that EVERYTHING was clean. I removed this two things and made the bed, the sheet was short and doesn´t cover all the mattress and the duvet cover is impossible to put. The linen is too hard and had holes also.
They give you a key for a small locker where you can put your personal things but in anyway anyone can go inside any room and grab a bag , because there are not cameras and all rooms are open.
Bathrooms were clean but on my third day we had to share between 3 people 1 sink because the other 3 sinks were used by the cleaning staff with buckets.
The last night I had headache and I asked politely to remove the music from reception, they put it down and change the kind but didn´t remove. I asked twice and change the kind but not remove. The third time I asked I received from the receptionist a absolutely unpolite and rude "NO", IS THAT HOW THEY TAKE CARE OF THEIR GUESTS? I do not think so.
The area is really noisy with a bar with music til really late, cars driving constantly and buses.
Avoid this hostel if you can spend a little bit more in another one.
Never come back and I hope change the management or the manager takes notes about everything I commented before.
My bf and I + a group of friends stood here for a few nights. We had 2 private rooms, simple but both very nice and overall clean. Bathrooms are not en suite but that didn’t bother us, they were also nice and clean.
The staff was very very nice and the hostel (it is also an hostel with dorms, but not on the same floor) vibe with private rooms is the right balance. We happened to be there on the owners birthday and they offered pizza and super discounted beers and there was live music.
A not so pleasant thing is that there’s a “club” right next to it and on the weekend you can hear the music at night.
I stayed there 4 nights. It is a very cheap hostel and overall I am very satisfied! It is not missing anything. The atmosphere is warm and nice. They have a kitchen that everyone can use and a living room where everyone can hang out. While in shower you can almost see each other (they have a high transparency plastic sheets) but it did not bother me much. Just dont look at each other I guess :P The location is good and most of the staff is cool. There is a LIDL just across the road, bars and restaurants very close and free street parking .
