We stayed for 2 nights and had a lovely stay! The staff were very friendly and helpful, the reception area is very clean, modern and stylish, and the room was very comfortable!

We were lucky and were given an upgrade to a delux room for our stay. Whilst the rooms are small (as to be expected in Paris) they are beautifully decorated and in immaculate condition. It had everything we needed, as well as a tv hidden in the mirror which was very cool!

We had to preorder breakfast due to COVID 19 which was brought to our room, which personally I loved as it was like have fresh continental breakfast in bed! (No hot food on the menu however which my friend was disappointed with, but I loved the fresh fruit, baguettes and pastries!)

We didn’t use the gym in the basement but had a quick look and again it’s very clean, modern and stylish.

Location wise it’s a very short walk to Leige subway which has a straight line into Champs Elysees which is great. We also walked in one day which took around 45-50 minutes to the Eiffel Tower There are lots of delis and cafes around the hotel, and only a short walk to the Moulin Rouge as well as lots of shops.

Overall we had a great stay and would definitely recommend if you are thinking of staying here.

Response from Hotel R de Paris, Service clients/Réception at Hôtel R de Paris
Responded 17 Aug 2020
Dear Kirsty, On behalf of everyone here at Hotel R, I would like to thank you sincerely for sharing your wonderful review of our establishment with the TripAdvisor community. Your review centres a lot around our decor. We are delighted to learn that our unique style and design impressed you so much. Upon arrival, we were happy to be able to give you and your friend an upgrade. It is not always possible but when it is, we do love to spoil our guests with an upgrade! Our guests do usually adore our Deluxe rooms. These rooms are extra cosy, with the unique decoration of the TV encased in a marble framed mirror and fireplace. During the current health crisis, we are doing our utmost to protect our guests and our staff. To achieve this we have put in place new rules and regulations. Our breakfast is part of this new system and is served only by room-service at the moment. This special breakfast can make for a cosy breakfast in bed and is just €15 per person. If you do prefer a more brunch-style breakfast, let the reception know because we have loads of addresses to share with our dear guests! Thank you for highlighting our prime location. We are just a short 10 minutes walk from the Opera and Montmartre districts as well as very well connected with Paris' public transport system, as you have mentioned. Our front desk is always happy to help plan your itineraries with you. All in all, it sounds as if you really enjoyed your time here at Hotel R. It was a true pleasure to meet both you and your friend. A big thanks again for your fantastic review, your support means the world to us. Kind regards, Fiona Front Desk

We picked Hotel R for our last night in Paris after returning from Amsterdam. We had an early flight in and were able to check into our room early, around 11:00am which was a great surprise. Our room was very comfortable and the hotel itself was clean, great location, and quiet.

We were meant to leave the next morning to get our flight back to the U.S., but my husband became ill with what we now think was extreme stomach poisoning (we did not eat at the hotel). He was sick enough that we couldn't get on our flight and instead had to go to the ER to make sure he was okay. I wish I had gotten the employee's name who helped us call a cab, talked to the cab drive in French and told him exactly where to go and was just so compassionate. When we returned, the same employee was there and welcomed us back in. We had missed our flight and needed to stay another night and he was extremely helpful in getting us another room for a discount. We were able to comfortably rest until the next day when we got on our new flight. Mind you all of this is when the Coronavirus was moving throughout Paris and stress was high in general. We would come back here in a heartbeat and would surely buy that employee a bottle of wine for his help and compassion.

It's my first time at Hotel R - I seem to get a different hotel I'm in Paris, which happens more times per month than I ever thought it would - but it's been pleasant. I'd say that the rooms are above standard for most hotels in this range (I've tried at least 5 so far this year). I'm in a smaller room this time, trying a superior room in a couple of weeks. Anyway, it's clean, well decorated, very modern, and the bathroom is quite nice (except for the fact it has a tub and not a shower - why? why would you do that in 2020...) I haven't had breakfast but the dining room looks very nice. I'll try tomorrow for some drinks. Reception was very good, the gentleman when I arrived was charming and efficient. So why not 5 stars? Two reasons. The internet is absolutely atrocious (again for 2020). It's the worst I've experienced in Paris, tonight barely getting above the 5Mb download (never mind the upload). I haven't been able to get a good FaceTime connection, but even reading the DailyMail is painful (isn't it always?) Second problem is the cooling/heating in the rooms. The controls are blocked from the front desk and are in "heating" mode. That means, unfortunately, that the room is stuck at 23 degrees in full winter. I've had to open the window even after asking the front desk to turn off the heating. Yes, it's strange, I'd like to cool my room to 19 degrees... not unreasonable in winter. Anyway, the other nice, comparable hotel I stayed at last week had no objection to me cranking up the AC to achieve that goal (not my fault they over-heat all the rooms...) So based on that, I'll come back one more time, but probably book elsewhere in April (unless someone reads this and (a) fixes the internet and (b) removes the block on cooling).

Dear Robert, Thank you for taking the time to share your review on TripAdvisor. Guest feedback, good or bad is always constructive and helps us to become better and grow as a team. Here at Hotel R, we understand the importance of comfort and we do our best to ensure this for each individual guest. Unforutnately, you don't seem to be quite comfortable with us. We are very sorry to read this. You are currently staying in our only classic room on the 6th and final floor of our establishment. This is, in fact, one of only two rooms out of forty equipped with a bathtub. This bathtub has also an Italian style shower-head and small shower-hose also. We understand that this may not be to your taste, be assured however, that some guests do enjoy the jacuzzi style bathtub and this is quite often requested. We do apologise for the Wi-Fi issues. This, we can assure you, does not happen often. We are pleased to inform you that we have contacted our operator first thing this morning and everything should be in order now. As it is the middle of winter in Paris we are, like most buildings in "heating-mode". Unfortunately, this cannot be modified right now. Most guests are still asking for heating in their rooms and to change one room, we must change the whole floor. At the moment, the heating requests outweigh the AC ones. What we could suggest is a room change, seeing as you are still with us for two nights. We will email you personally with this offer. Please remember that we are here to find solutions and are available day or night, 24/7. I will personally be available all day today and would love to hear your feedback in person. Kind regards, Fiona Front Desk

Dear Michelle, Thank you for your interest in our establishment. Thank you to all the previous responses from former guests. Our rooms are indeed equipped with a standing italian style rainfall shower. To have a balcony you will need to reserve either a Deluxe or Executive room. However, not all of these rooms are equipped with a balcony. We invite you to contact us by phone or email to ensure the availability of a balcony on your preferred dates. Dear Jojocruz, Thank you very much for your interest in our establishment. Most of our rooms have a maximum occupancy of two persons. However, we do offer a Triple Executive room which has one king size bed and a real single bed to insure the comfort of all occupants. As we offer only one room with this configuration, we invite you to contact our front desk team to confirm with us the availability of the room during your period of interest. We are looking forward to hearing from you and remains at your entire disposal for any further information. Best regards, Mélanie
