We stayed here on valentines weekend for two nights. We instantly felt comfortable as soon as we met the host Angela. She was so friendly and really informative about the area. Our room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. I loved the pine staircase. The place was spotless. You could smell the clean! We headed into town which was less than a mile away. We visited a few of the pubs and the people were genuinely really friendly. Angela recommended a bar called Cobblers. We found it as it was hard to miss the yellow hotel! Westport- we will back and Angela- expect a return visit! Highly recommended.

Ken was truly amazing. There was no room at the inn and he invited me to sleep in his bed. Was a nice big super king size bed. He assisted me with my shower and made sure I was well looked after throughout the night and my stay. He gave me a lovely breakfast in the morning, a nice big load which was filling. He allowed me to enjoy a bottle of wine in the family area and cooked me a evening meal. He really could not do enough for me. He took me around town to see the bars and walks on the beach with his 2 lovely dogs. Ladies I would highly recommend this place for a night out. Ken is truly amazing and helpful. This is my 8th stay here. Enjoy.

My wife and I stayed here last year.
We were met by a tired unkept woman who did not know what day it was let alone what plannet she was on.

There was nowhere nice to sit only your bedroom.
We were around the back of the property where they kept thier poor dogs that was never walked once the time we were there.

They had overgrown claws and just passed up and down barking the whole day. The smell of thier faeces was terrible, the back yard was full of sun baked dog fowl.

The couple argued all evening and children crying none stop. This was the same for 3 nights.
These children are very young so be warned as the noise from them starts at 6am. The none stop crying drove us mad.

I did leave a review last year but I see it has been removed for some reason?

People need to know these details before they arrive to the chaos.

Dear Tim We're so sorry that you had such an unpleasant stay with us. As there are very few other reviews that share the same dissatisfaction as yours we hope to shed some light on your experience may have come to pass. B&B's aren't just accommodation options, they're also homes. The 'chaos' you referred to can sometimes reflect our home - we're normal. When you stayed in October 2018 our then 1 year old was having night terrors so I've no doubt she was crying more than usual. This should help explain my 'unkept' look - rearing 2 small children while simultaneously running a business can have that effect on occasion. I was also a couple of weeks post back surgery so I'm sure convalasing from that coupled with the lack of energy from the aforementioned night terrors probably contributed to your statement of how I didn't know what planet I was on. After the surgery I was unable to 'scoop the poop' as frequently as I usually would have had, however my husband did it every evening after work. Our dogs are brought to the woods or beach at least twice on a busy week, you were with us for 3 days and I'm sure you had better things to do than monitor their whereabouts 24 hours a day. We usually do a better job of balancing our home life v's b&b life as we've had very little complaints about the kids and/or dogs in the 12 years we've been operating b&b's. On the contrary, we usually receive lots of lovely comments about our family and home. Considering your dissatisfaction we would have appreciated if you had made us aware of your concerns on check out. I'm even more surprised you paid the full rate. I'm more than happy to give you a full refund on this occasion, please call directly so we can make arrangements. Again, please accept our sincere apologies.

We spent three nights at Willow Lodge, Westport. On arrival, we were welcomed by Angela and shown a very comfortable and clean room. Westport is a great base for riding the Great Western Greenway and a beautiful town to visit. I certainly recommend this B&B when visiting the area.
