Dear Tim We're so sorry that you had such an unpleasant stay with us. As there are very few other reviews that share the same dissatisfaction as yours we hope to shed some light on your experience may have come to pass. B&B's aren't just accommodation options, they're also homes. The 'chaos' you referred to can sometimes reflect our home - we're normal. When you stayed in October 2018 our then 1 year old was having night terrors so I've no doubt she was crying more than usual. This should help explain my 'unkept' look - rearing 2 small children while simultaneously running a business can have that effect on occasion. I was also a couple of weeks post back surgery so I'm sure convalasing from that coupled with the lack of energy from the aforementioned night terrors probably contributed to your statement of how I didn't know what planet I was on. After the surgery I was unable to 'scoop the poop' as frequently as I usually would have had, however my husband did it every evening after work. Our dogs are brought to the woods or beach at least twice on a busy week, you were with us for 3 days and I'm sure you had better things to do than monitor their whereabouts 24 hours a day. We usually do a better job of balancing our home life v's b&b life as we've had very little complaints about the kids and/or dogs in the 12 years we've been operating b&b's. On the contrary, we usually receive lots of lovely comments about our family and home. Considering your dissatisfaction we would have appreciated if you had made us aware of your concerns on check out. I'm even more surprised you paid the full rate. I'm more than happy to give you a full refund on this occasion, please call directly so we can make arrangements. Again, please accept our sincere apologies.
