Write a reviewThis lodging was a true finding! My husband and I were visiting Inhotim and decided to spend the night in Brumadinho (before its devastating tragedy). We had a perfect restful night and woke up to one of THE BEST breakfast ever!!!
We were pretty content with everything about Pousada Dona Carmita. Staff was extremely helpful and attentive; room was cozy and clean; breakfast was out of this world, and its location was premium. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to join the pool which has a fantastic view of the mountains.
I’ve had recommended this lodging to several friends and family, and I’d love to be back and stay longer.

If you are going to visit Inhotim the BEST option is to stay near by. Pousada Dona Carmita is only 10-15 minutes driving to the art/garden complex and it's really nice and cozy. The chalet we stayed was overlooking the lagoon and it was superb. Calm and quiet, despite being near the restaurant. You get for what you pay plus the extra bonus of an excellent cafe. The only thing I think deserves a better adjustment is the room bathroom, which is looking a bit dated and shower could be a bit more powerful. Breakfast was really, really good and tasty, full of the complexities of local recipes.

I had an excellent stay at Dona Carmita’s pousada! I was made to feel very welcome and the owner was quick to help me out with any queries and offer suggestions. My room was small but clean and extremely comfortable with a good shower plus a TV and wifi. The breakfast included was good value and the restaurant offers an excellent range of food which I would certainly recommend for lunch or dinner!
And the other great advantage of this accommodation is it’s location! It is very close to Inhotim, the outdoor art museum/park! Inhotim is huge and so I would recommend at least two days to see all of it really making this pousada ideal as a place to rest!

I chose this hotel on my second visit to Brumadinho, to see the art at Instituto Inhotim. My previous hotel was another one in town - terrible... now Dona Carmita was way better - nicely decorated rooms! My first room had not light, they were kind enough to move me to another room for a lower price.
The restaurant has nice food and is just outside. The breakfast is good, and the location is great.
If you're visiting Inhotim, pick this place for sure. it's just 10 min away.
