We used to go to the pool last year all the time, for 10 € we'd have chairs and a nice huge umbrella..It used to be beautiful and luxurious looking. Yesterday (August 8, 2018) We went for the day and we were incredibly disappointed. It was horrible! The teenage boy who was supposedly taking care of the place and it's clients didn't seem to care at all.He opened our umbrellas then went to sit down and play on his phone. All of the lounge chairs were in disarray and we had a hard time finding one that actually worked.. when I did find one that worked, the cord broke while trying to adjust the back rest. There was even a pair of men's underwear on a lounge chair and and empty water bottle discarded on another. The grounds were like swamp lands full of water and mud everywhere we stepped. The pool was cloudy and dirty and I loathed going in just to cool off. I thought to use the shower instead but the drain was blocked so in order to take a shower with a slight dribble of water coming out, you were forced to stand in 2 inches of stagnant dirty water. When we arrived at almost 10.00 AM the garbage cans were overflowing and the boy was just starting to empty them and then took forever to replace the bags, we had to remind him. The cooler at the bar was 1\2 empty and you could see the broken down structures and wear and tear of everything. The boy took people's lunch orders and then was gone for probably an hour 1\2, leaving no one there to tend to people's needs. I thought maybe he had to go and prepare the food as well.My daughter had her 18th birthday here in December and we've always been pleased with this place, but now it seems like it's just a broken down complex and they either don't care to make improvements or don't have the money...whichever it is it's going downhill quickly!
Very good impression when you arrive nice big garden., friendly helpful service.
The rooms were average , water tap and shower were not working very well due to the big chalky deposit , so simple to clean and make a much better impression... BUT the frustration is the so called SPA ..a small pool not for swimming but event without any jets . so you just sit in hot water .... the sauna ok the turkish batch we had to leave after a couple of minutes due to the strong smell of waste water . The treatments were very expensive (75 and 50 Euro) and not professional just rubbing oil into a body.
And the negative highlight of our stay !! we have learned at check out that we had to pay EUR 30 per person !!! for a 2 hours stay at the hotel owned SPA !! this is a NO GO we have been in so many places in Germany /France /Austria / Switzerland even in Italy and we never ever heard that Hotel guest have to pay in addition for the SPA ..this is not acceptable . We were looking for a Hotel where we can stay with friends. this is definitively not the place.
We arrived to be offered a room (costing 105euros a night) with an "inside window", i.e. a window into the dark corridor. The rooms with windows with a view of the countryside (which are the same price) seemed to "fully booked". Only after a 20 minute debate with the receptionist were we allowed one the rooms with the nice view. The receptionist was very unapologetic about this. The bathroom has a pink 70's feel and is not what I would class as 4 star. You'll notice the lovely fresh flowers in rooms on the website pics, don't be fooled!
The spa is very basic. Costs 30euros per person and consists of:
- 1 moderately warm pool with a few fizzy bubbles at one end (and a bicycle in the pool! bit random!)
- 1 steam room (smelled of sweat)
- 1 sauna (nice sauna :) )
- a few showers dotted around of various temperatures
These are the kind of facilities you would find in any half decent gym in the UK, I don't really class it as value for money. All the treatments were way overpriced, although we were told they were fully booked anyway. The swimming pool outside is nice and we wish we had just hung out there instead.
We visited Spoleto which about a 10min drive from the hotel, such a lovely town. If you want to visit this area I'd recommend booking in a hotel there instead.
We booked this trip from a members site where it was billed as a special 70% offer on a luxurious 4 star spa hotel in a picturesque setting - however at £140 per night and dark smelly attic style rooms the quality of a motel (cheap furniture, no view, minute cramped bathroom with tiny plastic shower cubicle) it is difficult to believe. The first room we were shown too was filled with large spiderwebs and had squashed mosquitos all over the ceiling and walls (and lots of live ones too!) It also stank of stale cigarettes despite our request for a non-smoking room. When we complained the desk clerk told us that this was "agriturismo" (agricultural tourism) and so the spiderwebs and mozzies should be expected (but not cleaned up apparently). He told us that all the hotel rooms in the hotel are "non-smoking" - but laughed that of course despite this "everybody smokes" so what can they do? He then showed us two further "non-smoking" rooms which also stank of cigarettes. Spa utterly delapidated - the round pool which looks so nice lit up in the photos n fact has pealing paint chipped plaster and grubby sides. Outside pool fine. Food at dinner good, breakfast minimal with old seperated browning juices and pre-packed pastries
