My partner & I had a 2 night stay here. The farmhouse is in the most beautiful location - so peaceful with beautiful views of the valley and with the sea in the distance. There is a lovely terrace for guests to sit outside and relax, as well as a beautiful sitting room inside. The spacious bedroom contained everything one could possibly want, with incredible attention to detail, and the most comfortable bed. Wonderful toiletries were provided in the en-suite bathroom and everything was spotlessly clean. The breakfast was amazing with a wide range of choices. Despite the current Covid 19 situation (and it was obvious that all the necessary precautions were being taken), we had the most relaxing time. Sue and John were the perfect hosts and we will be returning.
Sue and John are excellent hosts, who obviously take great pride in the service they offer their guests. Beautifully located, with large comfortable bedrooms, a superb breakfast and stunning views from the terrace, which are features that attribute to the success of Buckley Farmhouse. Attention to detail is the norm and Sue is very aware of how to make your stay a safe ( under present circumstances ) and memorable experience in an outstanding B & B.
Our room was very clean and spacious
The thick curtains meant we were able to sleep in during our stay as we opted for 9.15 breakfast. We had room 1 with adjoining bathroom. It was just down the hall and ours exclusively. We never met anyone in the night when using it. Room was serviced daily.
Breakfast was amazing with a choice of fruit juice then fresh fruit, yogurt or cereal. Followed by cooked breakfast, or poached or scrambled eggs. Toast with various conserves to follow.
The garden is good for a stroll to meet the hens and the ducks and their is a guest lounge but our room was big enough to sit in when you got home.
We found plenty to do on our long weekend, Branscombe thatched village and walk to Blue Ball Hill and Branscombe mouth beach, Seaton wetlands and Burrows farm gardens and the donkey Sanctuary. The Red Lion Inn had exceptional food.
I would like to give 4.75 stars but cant. The only disappointment was that the bacon was Danish (factory farmed)
If you want a relaxing holiday or a base for walking or visiting local areas this is ideal.
We had a lovely 2 night stay here. It was extremely peaceful and relaxing and well located. The breakfast was superb, the room was clean and a good size, and the host was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely go back and enjoyed exploring the local areas and then returning to a little haven of quiet.
It was a privilege to stay in this beautiful farmhouse in a gorgeous country setting yet only a few minutes drive to the sea. Sue and John are perfect hosts. Our room was spotless with the most comfortable bed and glorious views. The delicious breakfast was immaculately presented with the highest attention to detail and gleaming cutlery and china. Top drawer!!
