Casa Elvira is a true find for the budget traveler. The room I stayed in offered enough space, a good bed, clean linen, a TV and ceiling fan, shower and even a little corner outside with a table and chairs. The hosts are very kind.
The hotel has a restaurant which faces the beach.
Very happy I found Casa Elvira and that I could stay there for such an affordable price. Gracias!
The quality of this place is nothing spectacular buts its not bad by any means. When I stayed here in January 2013 I payed 150 pesos for a double room, thats crazy cheap for how nice this place is. Theirs a tradition open courtyard with hanging plants and spiral stairs up the second floor. Casa Elvira is a great place to stay right off the central plaza in the middle of Zihua, also the owner speaks enough English to get by. The attached restaurant was a little pricey and the food wasn't that good. The next time I'm in Zihuatanejo this is where I'm staying.
We spotted Casa Elvira from the balcony of another hotel room we were viewing and decided to take a better look. We were shown to a cosy room with en-suite bathroom and decided we would stay the night!
We ended up staying 5 days at Casa Elvira and enjoyed every moment of it. The room was cleaned daily and new towels supplied. There was small balcony, communal kitchen and fridge which we used for simple breakfasts and snacks.
The owners were friendly and the price very reasonable. There is no hot water, but even at the coolest time of year, Zihuatanejo temperatures make a cool shower very pleasant! Casa Elvira is a little gem hiding just two streets from the beach - we would definitely return!
Great location in town, close to the market and various restaurants. The room was bright and clean (on the second floor). There is a common room on the ground with a kitchen, fully equipped with drinking water, fridge, stove top and cooking utensils.
Management was very friendly. For the price, it was an amazing stay.
I loved staying in this traditional guesthome while in Zihua. It was safe, and comfortable and the owner is a delight. The morning birds would wake me up each day and the locale is in the heart of town.
First we stayed in a room with a two big beds and a shared bath, just fine!
After we returned, we stayed in the "pink honeymoon suite"
Super lovley little room, with a balcony and private bathroom.
I loved it here.
Not American at all, just perfect.
