We spend 2 days/nights there on the occasion of a birthday. The birthday "girl" was 88 and got a room right next to the restaurant. We had a room in the annex, close to the pool and spa - because we had brought our dog. Room was nice, even though a bit noisy when people walked past our balcony with a trolley.
We were lucky with the weather and could have our dinners in the garden. The food was great, the service very nice.
Breakfast was one of the best we ever had!
The afternoon was spent by the heated pool.
All in all: the perfect get-away!
The hotel was very beautiful. The rooms are spacious and the staff are very friendly. It's very cosy and has a great outdoor pool and a nice warm indoor pool. However, the problem is the rooms are not air conditioned so it's not good for the summer time. They have portable AC but you need to leave your window open for it to work which is not convenient. It is also a bit overpriced as they charge per person rather than per room.
They have a great restaurant over looking a wonderful view and delicious food.
We felt as if we were the only guest in the hotel because of the personalized treatment. The waitresses and clerks at the desk wore traditional outfits to indicate what part of Germany they were from. The rooms were well appointed, quiet and tastefully decorated.Wonderful showers, comfy robes and slippers. I do not know how to even describe breakfast. So many, many choices, an array of meats, cheeses, breads, fruits, deserts, and the most delicious croissants I have EVER tasted and keep in mind this magnificent spread was included in the price of the room!!!!! They were even kind enough to place phone calls to help with my genealogy research. .Apparently part of my family came from Hayna.
We stayed here in October 2016 with a family of four and found it somewhat ambivalent: Cuisine, food and wines were really excellent, and the service was really good (although on a really busy Sunday, staff seemed somewhat to be on the capacity limit, resulting in noticeable waiting times... But we could live with it since we were on vacation).
However, building and rooms seem somewhat dated. Many of the details need some refurbishing such as wooden window sills, lamps (noticing many bulbs not working) and things like these. If you look for a modern hotel room, this is probably not going to be your place.
Breakfast buffet is really impressive in terms of choice and quality, but I have also seen breakfast buffets been presented with much more care for detail...
All in all THE place to go if you fancy excellent cuisine and German wine, and can live with a traditional old-school hotel building.
Pool, whirlpool and Spa (sauna) were very nice and not busy even when the hotel was crowded. Regarding swimming, you can choose between indoor and outdoor pool. Nice.
There is a nice keep fit track in the bordering woods. Also nice!
We loved some of the little details of their service: for example, they came to our rooms while we were at dinner every night to leave little gift. Suites for the grownups, and little toy for the little ones. Amazing!
This is a rather fine hotel you wouldn´t expect in a village like this. The main reason to stay here is the restaurant and that´s why we were there too. There is actually not much to criticize, except that our room (in the new wing) was rather bland and there was no WiFi. Breakfast was very good as well.
