We recently had the privilege of visiting MOSAIC Lagoon Lodge near Stanford and we cannot wait to go back. All Covid-19 protocols are in place. We felt safe and relaxed, and by day 3, we felt like part of the family. Accommodation is immaculate and luxurious with all the small things taken care of. We were never once left wanting. Food is amazing! You can taste the love in the way the food has been cooked. Expect to roll out of the lodge to your room after dinner. The area is full of activities and we participated in some kayaking, mountain biking and quad biking...with a little adventure on Walker Bay beach thrown in. The Klein River Lagoon is a birders paradise, so bring your DSLR and shoot away. The area is also littered with a variety of wine estates for you to explore. We look forward to another dose of country hospitality, and the opportunity to get away from it all!

We just came back from this most wonderful weekend getaway for a family with kids. We stayed in the milkwood cottage 3, which was perfect for us (2 adults and 3 small kids). The cottage was very spacious and well equipped and very good value for money. A cot for our baby was also provided. After we checked in we had a relaxing picnick by the lagoon (with a delicious cheese, cold meats, olives, homebaked bread etc. platter - also very good value for money as far as I am concerend). The kids could run around freely and climb rocks and trees, they absolutely loved it. In the late afternoon we took a boat-trip onto the lagoon and were spoilt with drinks and snack and the staff was really wonderful and very friendly. Sometime during the day my son spotted the "safari" vehicle and wanted to take a ride, so for the next morning a driver (sorry forgot his name) took us through the reserve onto the beach. The kids climbed the sanddunes and got hot chocolate and biscuits, what a treat! These activities are free for people who stay at the lodge, but understandably we had to pay for them. In the morning we discovered that the gas had run out (no hot water in the shower and no gas in stove) but his was sorted out very efficiently by the staff after we reported it. This morning I got a call from them saying we forgot one of the kids jackets in the cottage and that they will post it to us. How nice is that!
On the way out we also had a look at the lodge, which is beautiful as well, not as much free area to run around for the kids as the area by the Spookhuis, but a pool that is heated all year round! The family suit can fit two adults and two kids on matresses as well as a baby in a cot. After seeing the family suite the kids insited, that we should try the lodge next time.
We really love this place and will be back with some friends this winter still !

Room Tip: Milkwood cottage 2 and 3 are right next to each other, so for a romantic couple get-away I would...

We are thrilled to know that you and your family had a wonderful getaway at Mosaic Private Sanctuary! Having children ourselves we know how important it is to have time and places to get away for quality time together (one of the reasons we do not have TV'S in our rooms - There are much better shows to watch outdoors in nature!).
We are also glad you enjoyed the additional activities, which are such a part of the whole experience at Mosaic. Being on the lagoon and with 4x4 access to the beach is what sets us apart and how we can make our guests' stays really special.
We look forward to welcoming you back to Mosaic at Lagoon Lodge or the cottages.
Kindest regards,
Kathryn

Let me start by saying this: My only regret about our stay at Mosaic is that it was too short.
We came in on a motorcycle and as we got close, we looked up the location on google earth view. It has a long unpaved road in, so we called to inquire as to how to best maneuver the bike through to the cottages. Marcelino, the general manager, offered us both a safe place off site to park the bike and a ride into the sanctuary. So our very first impression of Mosaic was one of accommodation and true customer service.
When we arrived, a lovely woman greeted us w scented warm towels to freshen up and a cold glass of iced tea. We were taken to the main lodge, while our bags were taken to our cottage. We met with the staff in the main lodge and were offered a small meal (we’d had lunch on the way - now I wish we hadn’t!) of fruits, cheeses and fresh bread. After that we were shown to our cottage, where a carafe of brandy was awaiting us. We relaxed and enjoyed the stunning view from the front of the cottage, which opened up onto the lagoon and mountains.
Our afternoon activity was a quad bike ride around the grounds. It was so much fun and the scenery was nice as well! The guide stopped at several spots for photo opportunities.
We again returned to our room to relax and found a bottle of champagne on ice on the bed! We enjoyed the outdoor shower and freshened up for dinner while relaxing on our porch w champagne.
Dinner was spectacular! We had ostrich for the main course which was new for me and I loved it. Moses kept our wine glasses full and our bellies even more so!
Before departing for the the night to our cottage, Moses have us a pack for our morning trip to do some shark cage diving.
We were taken to the shark diving place extremely early, thanks to the wonderful staff who got up early with us without complaint.
While I enjoyed the shark diving, my boyfriend got very seasick. We had a motorcycle to ride all the way back to Cape Town....and an early flight the next day to our safari. So an extra night was out of the question, although no doubt it would have been lovely! Marcelino brought us back to Mosaic and gave my boyfriend a nice soft place to lay down for several hours while he recovered.
I took that time to do some shopping in the onsite shop. They sell the same sugar scrub as I’d had in my bathroom the night prior, which i had loved, so I got that as well as some lotion for my sunburn which smells like oranges and is amazing!!
Then the lodge staff brought me a plate of almond cookies and some coffee.
When my boyfriend was able to move about better, Marcelino’s wonderful wife Simone took us back to our motorcycle. The customer service, attention to detail, caring, and genuine humanity shown to us at this gorgeous lodging will stay with us forever. We hope to return someday.
I would recommend this place to anyone looking for more than just a room.

Dear Kate,
What a fun way to explore the Western Cape! We are so happy that Marcelino, Simone, Moses and the rest of our staff compliment were able to help make your experience at Mosaic a memorable one. Service excellence is what we strive for and we are so pleased that that was your experience throughout your visit. The quad bike excursion is a favourite with many of our guests and we are glad you enjoyed it too. Our kitchen staff always put so much love and attention into their creations.
We are sorry about the seasickness experienced by your partner during your shark cage diving experience but happy that he had some time to recover with us before having to travel back to Cape Town. And how lovely that you were able to get a bit of shopping and cookies and coffee in too!
We do hope to welcome you back to Mosiac again soon.
Best Regards
Team Mosaic

We spent two nights at Mosaic Private Sanctuary and our only disappointment was that we did not stay there longer, The accommodation is fantastic with breath taking scenery, fantastic food beautifully appointed bedrooms, outdoor shower and a private porch. Every single member of staff went beyond making our stay memorable and their attention to detail was superb - we did not have very much time to do all that we wanted to do, however the team made it possible - and we truly appreciated it.
Truly stunning place to end our holiday which made going home all the more difficult - thank you to you all and all the best for the future!
