We really enjoyed our family room - the air cooler was a life saver. Willem the tame Oryx was a delight. We enjoyed the sunset deck in repurposed bathtubs. Very clever! The only sad part was incredibly rude and thoughtless campers who made a racket till late. They turned aggressive when other campers asked them to keep it down at 11pm. Ah well.
The room I had booked was not available on arrival. We were given a fancier, more modern, but they had to move beds into it as it only slept two and not four as I had booked. The room was beautiful, but very basically equipped and finishing touches like towel rails or hooks have been forgotten. We were looking forward to cake from the coffee shop, but not much was available and was a little disappointing. The tame baby Oryx around the place was very cute to pet and the sunset and stars were amazing.
This was our second visit to this beautiful litlle place in thie middle of nowhere. We were a group of 8 and stayed in 3 chalets. You have to make your own fire under a little geyser called a donkey for hot water to shower. This place is so amazingly equiped with only the bare necesities. It is smart, neat and very very clean... the two bedroom chalet has 2 bathrooms. There is a small shop and also a fuel station but it is very remote an has no credit card facilities....take cash!!
The room was very clean. You can only take a shower in the evening, if you need hot water. The kitchen is outside. The breakfast, which they serve is delicious. The location is very good. You can watch antelopes during the sunset.
We were two couples travelling together and we had booked two chalets next to each other. On arrival we were initially given one chalet and one room in the house which was away from the chalets. The receptionist could not give an explanation as to why one couple was booked in a room and not a chalet. We refused to accept this arrangement and insisted on two chalets and she promptly gave us two chalets next to each other! I fail to understand why this was not done in the first place as they were not fully booked at all. There are no fridges in the room and the little shop also had no ice although they had a very large freezer.
