First of all it's not for those who want luxury. They have clean and well maintained cottages. The cottages next to the Kosi river are the best. Rooms are huge. Located just off the Ranikhet road after crossing the Mohaan FRH, it benefits from the distance from the other resorts that Corbett is lined with. It's location is it's trump card. The dining area can do with general, overall improvement. The food prepared is simple and delicious- close to home made food. Staff is friendly, courteous and very helpful. As the TRH is on the animal corridor, it's likely that one will cross paths with some or the other form of wildlife. Some caution is called for. The resort offers facilities for badminton and volleyball. One can hire a bicycle from the resort to ride along the Ranikhet road which is a fantastic way to experience the forests. Room rates are competitive. At the time of visit, some renovation and repair work was being carried out, which also included fixing the machan overlooking the river. May was a hot month but enjoyable nonetheless as visibility was good. The best time to visit would be monsoon and winter.
KMVN TRH Mohaan is located near to Dhangari & Durgadevi gate of Jim corbett TR. best location for planning Day safari its on the bank of kosi river. Rooms are cottage type and good in conditions. we really enjoyed hospitality of TRH Mohaan staff. Dinner & Breakfast are inclusive in room rent, food served here are freshly made hence request needs to be placed well in advance, location is safe however it is not recommended to roam around during late night time, as its actually buffer zone of Jim corbett.
KMVN is the best place for someone who loves nature and wants to spend quality time with their family and friends in a peaceful and serene jungle environment. The room is spacious and the washroom is also equipped with geyser and other basic amenities. The staff also is very cordial and food tastes very much home-made food. There is also play area for children with swings and also rented cycles and helmets provided for health conscious visitors. You can visit Kosi river which is nearby and enjoy the beauty. This resort is not a luxury hotel but if I talk about the amenities, services, and food, this resort just outweighs any of the luxury hotels without making a hole in your pocket.
I stayed at KMVN- Corbett in March 2017.
It is located in the mid of the jungle and is right beside the Flowing river. Beautiful location. If you are taking safari from Dihkala Gate it is 4 kms away. The real thrill is walking in the open area in the night in dark with birds other noises coming. Its real jungle feeling. The rooms are very very spacious with all basic facilities. TV was not there but its better to stay away and enjoy nature. They offer rental cycle for cycling.
The Guest house has separate dinning area and they serve Full Lunch and dinner. You wont find food options around this place so better to have food here. In stay package they include break fast and dinner. Additional lunch per person would be around 150 INR unlimited buffet.
Very good staff with excellent services. The manager is also very co operative and had no complains.
The per day room is around 1500-2000 INR. You can book online a KMVN website. You will find all details there.
It’s a Government managed Tourist Rest House (TRH), between Kosi River and High slope of Corbett National Park; well off from the Hustle & Bustle of Ramgarh city’s cacophony. It’s on the Raniket road just 200 mtr from Mohhan Forest check Post. The TRH has ample space for parking of your vehicle inside the guarded premises. It has children play area with swings-slides and seasaw etc. The main attraction is its plan of cottages. All the cottages are well spaced out for privacy. One can see and hear flow of Mighty Kosi river from the room or attached Veranda of your room. The early morning’s herd of elephants in the Kosi River is a common sight from the room. If the one side of its location is the deep gorge of Kosi River than other side is the slope of Corbett forest. The full property is covered by the Teak, Kusum ( Cylon Oak) and Sheesham (Indian Rosewood) trees. Early morning one will get up by the chirpings of various beautiful birds. It has a semi open Restaurant maintained by TRH staffs and resident cooks. It also has four mountain cycles with all gears for the guests to roam around the countryside. The booking is online through KMVN site.
