2nd stay at Paraiso Resort, same friendly Staff. Major improvements in the rooms. Tiled bathroom floors, new Mosquito Nets, Swimming Pool overlooking the Sea. There were lots of people on the beach but we did not feel overcrowded. We love that the Resort is on the beach and that it is safe. There is no crime. Awesome Food, Awesome Weather, Awesome People, Good value for money.

I made a honeymoon booking at this place for three nights based on pictures I saw on the Internet. When we got there we got a shock of our lives, the room is stuffy, the linen is dirty and smelly, the wardrobe is falling apart and does not have doors, the swimming pool green with algae. I immediately called the owner to advise him I am not satisfied with the room, to which he responded and said he will not take my nonsense and he will advise his staff to check me out. Long story short, we ended up making alternative plans for accommodation and he is now giving me the run around for my refund. Do not stay with this fraudster whose pictures are on the Internet are world's apart from the real thing. This guy must and will be shut down for business! If it's the last thing I do.

Thank you for your review - I have recently taken over the Resort and assure you that major changes have been done to It. All rooms bathrooms have been tiled - New 20 year guarantee mattresses have been bought for all the rooms and is fitted. New Management have been employed - New Air-conditioners have been bought and fitted to replace the old ones. Swimming Pool have been built - New parking Area is currently been constructed and Lawn have been order for the Resort and will be delivered within the next 4 Weeks. We assure you that lots of effort went it to Resort and we know that even though the Resort's Accommodation is Basic it offers you now: Non- Self Catering, Air-Conditioned, with Mosquitoes Nets, 60l Fridge, Own Bath Room, 6 Channel Fixed Satellite TV. All Menu's have been redone. Safe and Clean Accommodation right on the Beach with new hands on Management. We will welcome you coming to stay now with us and experience the difference!! RIGHT ON THE BEACH FRONT!! Regards Johan

This gem could definitely be diamond worthy. Has loads of potential but just not quite there yet. High seasons are definitely not the best. The pools are very dirty and the kitchen is definitely understaffed.

We where warmly welcomed by PARAISO staff and owners.. All the promises about the most Beautiful Mozambique and ultimate friendly service were true.. Johan and Diane went a million mile's worth effort for our Loving Dream Beach Wedding, can't thank them and staff enough. The cosy bar kept all walk's of life entertained, the wifi was an extra appreciated service.. The Deck was well deserved for our mouthwatering meals, made to perfection...and stunning sea view, white sand at the tip of your toe, sea breeze in your hair, couldn't ask for more. The swimming pool was also highly enjoyed, close to the Pizza bar and cocktails.. Each resting unit was perfect for our stay, airconditioning ,fridge all we needed to make our selfs at home, comfortable fit... Would advise all walks of life to visit Paraiso do ouro Resort , the friendly beautiful paradise...

Our first impression was one of horror. The parking lot is a sand pit. The pool is grimy and unappealing. The bedrooms have no windows so they are stuffy, dingy and dark and you have to have the aircon on to breath. The whole place is dirty and sticky. My mother dropped a cup of coffee on the carpet - it was so dirty you couldn't see where the coffee even was!

Our bedroom for 4 people only had 2 chairs, so people had to sit on the floor. We asked for three days for a lock for our bathroom door before it was sorted. And even then, the "handyman" whistled to my husband and handed him the screwdriver to sort it out himself. When we first arrived, there was absolutely no one in reception. We had to search to find our own rooms. One day our key was in reception and it went missing for three hours. No one knew where it was. The housekeeper said she didn't have it, so did reception and the bar. Finally it turned up with one of the housekeepers after we'd not been able to get in the whole morning.

The food is below average. At breakfast, served in a dingy room with eighties music videos blaring so loudly you can't hear each other speak, you have to pay extra for filter coffee. Otherwise you get Ricoffee. Absolutely disgusting. The owner traipses around taking photos of people with his pink mobile phone without their permission and expects them to smile. Difficult when you feel so ripped off.

The only thing going for this horrible place is its proximity to the beach. It really is close, which is great for the kids. Unfortunately, you have to go down a pathway with bits of chipped tiles that could have been cleared up quite easily - so watch out you don't cut your feet.

The staff are poorly trained (with one or two exceptions) and below-par food takes ages to come. Every day at around 4 a squadron of quad bikes arrives on a booze cruise. Noisy and unappealing.

If you go onto the "deck", the speakers blast music so it is really not relaxing and the jumping castle is so filthy and sticky my children said they didn't want to go on it. If you like you can sit in the corridor to see the view, it may be in everyone's way but at least there is a breeze and you can see the waves.

The free wifi is a joke. It runs through a cell phone. It hardly ever worked. You can't rely on it.

Oh, and our bed was so old you spent we spent the whole night rolling into each other. In that heat, it didn't help our sleep. The rooms have no towels and no toiletries, which they do tell you about. But it sums up the entire experience. Money for nothing.

The hotel is a fire risk as well - entirely made of wood. The emergency doors are blocked off with extra bunks so we even took our valuables out the room in case the fireworks went off course and hit the tinderbox.

Avoid this place at all costs. What a dump.
