My father and I needed a stop over and Lea BnB was perfect for us. Without asking for it we were offered a second room so that we didnt have to share. The rooms are beautiful as is the entire premises - the owners clearly put a lot of love into their business. Would recommend this place to anyone - the price and the quality are unbeatable.

A great welcome from Andy and Sophie on arrival, they make you feel at home straight away. Andy showed us around their beautiful home and garden. Our room was lovely and very comfortable. Breakfast was fabulous it gave us a great start to the day. It made our weekend so special as they are a great couple. Best B&B we have stayed at.
Thank you Andy and Sophie for taking the time to chat and give us good advice on where to eat.

Lea House is a first class B&B, just east of Ross-on-Wye in the hamlet of Lea. The accommodation is spacious (large family room and sitting room), elegantly furnished, immaculately clean and totally quiet overnight.

Mrs. Anderson was very welcoming and cooked a lovely breakfast for us on both days (choice of traditional full cooked breakfast, smoked haddock, eggs, freshly squeezed juice, cereals, porridge etc.; ordered the evening before). A shelf full of local guide books and maps to borrow was really useful, and Mrs. Anderson knows the area well.

From here, we visited Goodrich Castle (English Heritage, interesting for children), walked along the Wye Valley to Symonds Yat East, spent a day in the Black Mountains (East end of Brecon Beacons) and walked in the Forest of Dean. On the way home, we had an interesting afternoon in the Cirencester Roman museum which is excellent.

This was a lovely relaxing break in the countryside, and I highly recommend Lea House.

Just had a nice 2 day stay at this beautiful bed and breakfast. Fab hosts. Very comfortable rooms, immaculate bathroom, well stocked teas and coffee in room and full folder of places to visit and places to eat. As in previous comments the breakfasts are plentiful with excellent choices. Don't usually eat a lot of bread...but I just couldn't resist! Hmmmm. Ideal position for getting to all areas. Thank you Andy and Sophie.

I recently took my husband to the Forest of Dean for a birthday week end. We stayed at Lea House for two nights and had a very pleasant stay there. I was very surprised to read some negative reviews and think they were somewhat unfair. Lea House is a lovely listed building, full quirkiness and character. Caroline keeps it clean and tidy and always has a display of freshly cut flowers in the main guest rooms. The bedrooms are adequate and comfortable and most with ensuit bathrooms which is commendable considering the buildings age. Caroline served us a breakfast of cereals, freshly cooked homemade breads, homemade jams, freshly squeezed orange juice, rich fine coffee and one out of at least a dozen choices of cooked breakfasts. Her mushroom omelette I hasten to add was one of the best omelettes I've ever had. Caroline herself was was friendly and efficient and was very helpful when asked about the area and some of the better walks to take. She also recommended some of the better places to eat in the area. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our week end away and Lea House and Caroline were a big part of the reason why. Thank you Caroline, we will be back.x

Belatedly, thank you for such a generous review. I can't tell you how nice it is to have guests who really enjoy my breakfasts. I think it is one of the most important parts of a good b&b, so it is good to know I succeeded this time. best wishes caroline
