We had a fabulous stay here. The building and the grounds are beautiful and peaceful. The room was spotless and we had a lovely breakfast. The whole place has a fantastic relaxing energy. Nice location, just next to the canal. Recommended
We stayed at LMdP as a break from two weeks of cruising the Canal, and it was perfect. Comfortable, quiet room overlooking the garden, fine breakfast and attentive hospitality from hosts Matt and Gemma. We're already planning our next trip to Southern France, and that trip will definitely include a stop in Homps at LMdP.
What a charming place to stay...not to be missed! Matthew and Gemma welcomed us and our bicycles and we fell in love instantly with their beautiful home. We cycled to the nearby lake for a swim and returned to sit in the beautiful gardens to sip a cold refreshment from the 'honesty' fridge. A great bike park adjoins the gardens where there is room to hang out a towel etc. Following a last minute change to our booking Matthew kindly accommodated us in his last available room downstairs. Whilst it is not ensuite there is a lovely clean bathroom close by for your use. We had a lovely walk along the canal stopping off for a glass of wine/tapas at the lovely Italian across from the house. The restaurant next door was perfect for dinner. The highlight of our stay had to be breakfast...oh my word...so much coffee...fruit...cheese...bread...you will not be disappointed. Matthew & Gemma are fabulous hosts and we would not hesitate to return...try it and enjoy! Rhona & Stuart.
We had a super stay and can really recommend this nice place. We came late and got tha last room. Nice bikeparking and a relaxing garden. Excellent breakfast and a nice chat with the owner. If we do canal de midi one more time, we will book here or book if we are around. Thanks for a nice stay. Best regards from La Norvege.
Stopped en-route to Spain from Italy. My wife booked this place 25km off the motorway which I thought was quite far to go for a one night stop. What we came to was worth the slight detour. A 19th century villa with a unique almost original feel on the banks of the canal. The front mature garden had established palm trees and large flowering bushes and this was our breakfast 'room' (weather permitted). The buffet breakfast was delicious. Rooms were all different with antique furniture and interesting decor and en-suites. Matt and Gemma were warm and friendly hosts. Matt recommended a restaurant where we ate and had a delicious meal. Thanks for a great stay.
