Arnold and Annalise provide a delicious and delightful experience. The room was clean and lots of thoughtful little touches. Arnold is a fabulous cool and any chance to partake his creations is highly recommended. Looking forward to our next visit 🍷❤️
This place is incredible, booked quite late but was lucky to get my dates for my March 2021 trip. The location is good, very quiet part of town, literally one street from the beach, and with a stunning beach view from the upstairs balcony, though not uninterrupted.
I had an upstairs room which was comfortable and quiet, lots of light, spacious bathroom with a tub and separate shower.
More than enough parking on the street, with security overnight, it felt perfectly safe.
With the boring stuff out the way - the best part: the food! By good fortune, I enjoyed two breakfasts and a dinner prepared by Arnold. All of which were incredible. When was the last time you had a three course breakfast, including home made granola which we watched him make, and home-made ice-cream! Arnold was also kind enough to accommodate a dietary request, and did so with no issue whatsoever.
The dinner he prepared, was an incredible experience in itself, without tons of detail - a few courses, all picture perfect, and all incredibly special. All done in the intimacy of his kitchen while he and Annelise were perfect hosts. Every dish plated immaculately, and every course exceptional. His home-made Tiramisu is the stuff dreams are made of!! If you are anywhere near Paternoster, and do not stay here...you have missed out on a truly unique experience.
Cannot wait to return!! Arnold and Annelise are terrific hosts, very friendly and up for a chat late at night over a glass of wine, or perfectly happy to leave you to your own devices. Cannot recommend highly enough!
The food was out of this world, the decor exquisite, the room was comfort personified and let’s not forget about our amazing hosts - Arnold and Annalise! With the beach just a stones throw away, it’s just the most perfect place. Highly recommended. Cannot wait to visit again!
A small guest house close to the end of the beach in a sleepy ex-fishing village now turned trendy weekend bolt-hole for Capetonians. White building, beautiful design based on old fishing cottages, comfortable bed in well-equipped and artistic bedroom (eg a ladder as the headboard). The public areas are aesthetically decorated and welcoming.
Hosts Arnold and Anneliese offer and elegant and tasteful stay that you just sink into. Arnold is a top chef-turned-B&B owner, who provides the most cheffy breakfast I have ever had. Twice-cooked soufflé is a dish I've never even had at dinner! And ice cream is not a traditional breakfast ingredient. Sometimes, not every night, Arnold will cook dinner, if there are enough guests interested. Please be interested! This is a chef's tasting menu par excellence (think powders, capuccinos, reductions, tweezers.... and fabulous tastes and depth of flavour). Each of the four courses is meticulously prepared and plated in front of the guests, lovingly described, presented like a sacrifice to the gods, and eaten with respect and wonder. Not an experience to be taken lightly (Arnold expects his acolytes to discuss, enjoy and marvel), but we loved it.
Definitely one for the long-term memory book.
Very well run, safe with all the amenities. Rooms are a bit small but very functional. Breakfast is extraordinary and different. Would return. Hosts are friendly and well informed. Getting the heating unit took some effort but once it turned on the room heated up nicely.
