If youre in Fort Lauderdale, you should take advantage of the beach. Lots of touristy stores, restaurants and bars close-by so you can really spend all day and night here.
Perhaps some of the best and authentic Mexican food you will ever have. This renowned restaurant is consistently picked as one of the top restaurants (especially for Mexican) nationally. Costly but quite worth it.
Homemade ice-cream with all the fixins. This parlor has been in existence for over 50 years and once inside youll understand why. Don't be deterred by the line outside, its worth the wait. Or, you can always walk up to the counter and order "to-go."
Southwest eclectic/fusion. A delicious meal in a quiet and sophisticated atmosphere. The restaurant itself is quite small and the standing room might be a pain, but again... well worth it. Do not leave (or wait) without having at least one prickly-pear margarita (salt is up to you). Youll thank me later.
Some of the best, homemade bbq in South Florida. Everything is made fresh daily and smoked on the premises.
What better way to see Fort Lauderdale, the "Venice of America," than by taking a ride on the Water Taxi? Youll be able to get on/off as much as you like and it really gives you a nice way to see the area. Even if you want just a relaxing ride along the Intracoastal.
All you can eat Brazilian steakhouse! Food is of how quality and the service meets that standard, as well.
A local favorite. One of the best "after-party" places to go after a night of drinking near the beach. Or, if youre there during the day, stop in for a pizza or some amazing sandwiches.
The Everglades, or "River of Grass," is well worth the drive (about 20 minutes west of Fort Lauderdale). One can spend all day going out on an airboat, seeing the wildlife and walking around this gorgeous natural area.
Italian food at its best! Located close to the beach, but far enough away that you can see other things.
A classy establishment with delicious food. The mussel app is amazing!
Great restaurant with some of the best, table-side made guacamole you've ever had. By night the place is packed with both food and drink seekers.
A great place if you need to be indoors for a few hours. Kids will love it and there is much for the adults to see too!
A little piece of old Fort Lauderdale stuck in the middle of downtown. Worth a couple hours to walk and see.
A large selection of antique cars will keep you walking around and photographing for hours. Another nice selection for those rainy and/or hot days.
One of the largest selections of swimming artifacts in the country. Located close to the beach so after walking around the museum you can walk to the beach and practice your stroke!
Another great way to get around the "Venice of America," Fort Lauderdale. The air conditioned ride will also cool you down on those hot days.
You Only Live Once is a great restaurant. Delicious food. The atmosphere changes as the evening progresses from restaurant to more of a cocktail crowd. With other nightclubs, bars and restaurants close-by, YOLO offers a great way to begin the evening.
A great local restaurant right on one of the Intracoastal inlets. Outstanding oysters. Don't expect white gloves here, but you wont regret it.
