A great example of a Roman Aqueduct built by Emperor Valens. It is well preserved and was still in use by the Ottomans. A great site to see if Aqueducts are not something you normally have seen.

The Walls that protected the city of Constantinople for nearly a 1000 years. No one could penetrate the Walls until the city was conquered after about a 1000 years.

The Medusa Heads is the highlight here. The cistern, was built in the 6th century during the reign of Byzantine Emperor Justinian I.

Hagia Sophia is one of the greatest surviving examples of Byzantine architecture. Once a church, later a mosque, It was to remain the largest cathedral for 1,000 years.

The mosque is popularly known as the Blue Mosque for the blue tiles adorning the walls of its interior.

The Hippodrome of Constantinople was a circus that was the sporting and social center of Constantinople, capital of the Byzantine Empire. Today it is a square in the Turkish city of Istanbul, with a few fragments of the original structure surviving.

If you want somewhere to go shopping to get souvenirs, carpets, jewelry this is a place to spend a few hours.
