About Madison S
Lives in London, United Kingdom
Since Sep 2014
Hello! I'm Maddie- a native NYer whose Wanderlust has taken her abroad again and again. Having lived in six countries, and visiting others for school, work, leisure, and sport, I've adopted many localities, and am an admirer of a great many more. An avid scholar of language and culture, I hope to keep expanding my travel repertoire, and sharing great stories with the rest of the travel community. To give you some background on my travels, I spent months each year since childhood in Old Montreal, where part of my family lives. Summers were spent visiting folks in Ft. Lauderdale and L.A. My first big trip outside of the US on my own was to Australia & New Zealand at 12- I caught the bug early! I then moved to Japan where I studied for part of high school & uni. I am very familiar with Japanese cities, Sapporo and Osaka especially. Some of my favourite travel destinations include Goreme, Dubai, Marrakech, and Queenstown. (Plans for 2015 include China & Uganda!) Nice to meet you!

The iconic, original Disneyland Park has been entertaining visitors for more than 50 years. With rides and roller coasters, shops and street performers, restaurants, candy shops, cafes, and more, Disneyland has something for everyone. Character meet-n-greets, parades, and firework shows give the park its Disney touch, while themed areas from the Wild West to futuristic Tomorrowland tempt the imaginations of children and adults alike.
Fantasmic is Disneyland Park's nighttime extravaganza. The show employs a daring use of lights, fire, sound, and pageantry to bring to life its most fabled characters. Floats, mechanical dragons, and fireworks help to bring the action to life in a colorful and exciting parade of Disney characters.
Located right beside Disneyland Park, Disney's California Adventure is themed around the history, landscape, and culture of the Golden State. Opened in 2001, it feature boardwalks and vistas that are packed with interactive games and thrilling roller coasters. With unique attractions like Cars Land and Buena Vista Street, this Disney sibling has all of the technology of a modern theme park with all the charm of the past, including creameries, trollies, ferris wheels, and grottos.
Downtown Disney is the outdoor shopping, entertainment, and dining center located outside both Disneyland and California Adventure. The stores cater to the average window shopper and the Disney fanatic alike, so whether you're aiming to pick up a souvenir or new accessories and gadgetry, you're covered here.
The House of Blues, located in Downtown Disney, serves up southern food to the sounds of live rock and blues. Its menu — studded with cocktails and old favorites like jambalaya and po' boys — can be enjoyed indoors or out.
If you're looking for non-Disney fun that caters to older children, teenagers, and adults, Knott's Berry Farm offers a fun 'Old West' atmosphere. The historic theme park's fantastic roller coasters and adjacent water park make it a great all-day option, especially for play during the warmer months.
Adventure City is a great option for families visiting Anaheim. This compact theme park caters to small children with rides, a petting farm, arcade, and carousel.
The Anaheim Packing District is a historic, enchanting part of town. Divided into three parts, it includes the Packard Building, Farmers Park, and Packing House, all 1920s commercial spaces that have been beautifully refurbished. The Packard Building houses the local Anaheim Brewery and the trendy Umami Burger restaurant, while the old Packing House opens early for breakfast and stays awake late into the night for drinks. Farmer's Park, the gem of the district, is home to two acres of parkland — with a boardwalk, gardens, and an olive grove, as well as event spaces, a Sunday farmer's market, outdoor movies, and parades. There is always something fresh to eat and fun to do at the Anaheim Packing District.
Whether or not you're a baseball fan, Angel Stadium is a fun outing. Home to the Anaheim Angels, the Major League Baseball stadium welcomes up to 45,000 baseball fans a day, but its old-time charm and appearance in multiple movies make it a curiosity spot for all. Check to see who is in town during your visit, and grab a game and a hot dog!
Home to the Anaheim Ducks National Hockey Team, and venue to many of Anaheim's best concerts throughout the year, the Honda Center almost always has something going on.
Fun for those 21 and older, Bottle Logic Brewing is Anaheim's microbrew tasting haven. Featuring numerous craft beer options in an almost 'steampunk' space, Bottle Logic allows visitors to enjoy tasting flights or try multiple beers in 4-ounce pours. The staff are ready with suggestions and happy to help. Cheers!
