Lovely old colonial style house that serves excellent cocktails and good food.
Bit of a tourist trap, but certainly worth going to on a first visit.
Brilliant Kloof Street restaurant. Top food and wine served by friendly staff.
Maybe slightly over-rated but a good place for a sundowner overlooking the ocean. Food is on the pricy side, but that reflects that Blues is "a place to be seen".
Ride the cable car for fabulous views of the city and bay. Check the weather forecast the day before, because the mountain often disappears into cloud. Get there as early as possible, it is probably the most popular tourist attraction in the Cape and the queues can be daunting. There is parking along the road to the cable car - don't be greedy and try for a slot close to the door - take the first one you see and pay the local man a few rands to look after your car - that's how he feeds his family.
Exotic bar and restaurant that serves a wide variety of drinks and fusion food. Good atmosphere and friendly staff.
Does what it says on the label - serves excellent fish dishes.
Upmarket bar in top hotel. Nothing particularly special but its nice to say you've been here.
