Helderberg Nature Reserve is a great place if you love nature, enjoy hikes or just want to stroll a little and view the panoramic view from the Reserve. Make the trip, enjoy nature and relax.
Wine tasting at its best, or pair the wine with chocolates or turkish delight. Or just go and relax with friends and chat about life. There is also a restaurant as well as a Coffee Roastery on the farm. If you are there on a Sunday, make sure you visit the Harvest Market.
Make sure you drive up Sir Lowry's Pass to ensure the view from the viewpoint at the top. Some days (mostly weekends) you will find para-gliders at the top, fun to watch them take off. There are also African souvenirs that some of the locals sell to earn a living. Be aware of the baboons at the viewpoint. Please keep your doors and windows locked as they are not afraid of humans and will come into the vehicle if they see food. Please do not feed them.
If you are looking for a quick bite to eat that is good quality and reasonably priced, pop into the local Woolworths Foods Store at Waterstone (locals call it Woolies). Good quality food, breakfast and lunch when you are looking for something light to eat.
If you are looking for hearty homecooked meals, head over to the Farm House Coffee Shop. Friendly staff and satisfying food from home.
Want to try somewhere where the locals hang out and have a beautiful view, pop over to Antonios for Pizza. Make sure you have a beer with it. Great pizza at reasonable price. Staff friendly. Casual dining.
Looking for some good quality Chinese food? Look no further, this restaurant is more smart than casual and the prices reflect this, however it is worth the money. If you enjoy Chinese food and have the time, make sure you make a booking beforehand.
