"The not-so-good things: - The aircraft on the outbound flight (Stansted to Izmir) seemed particularly dirty - crumbs on seat, dirty tray-table, and what looked like trodden-in chewing gum on the floor; although the aircraft on the return flight was a bit cleaner."

"Turkish Airlines are a good airline. I have flown them many times. Their excellent in terms of service, value and onboard experience. Even a one hour internal flight return from Istanbul to Izmir was very good. The plane was spacious and big. I had a row to myself. There was no meal or beverage service but it was a one hour flight. Surprisingly they even had inflight entertainment and charging sockets which is normally only available on longer flights. Staff are friendly and pleasant. Planes are spacious. Timely. In fact early even on one leg. Boarding and alighting was done efficiently. With the COVID-19 pandemic, masks must be worn unless eating or drinking. They also provide a hygiene kit upon boarding which includes a mask. Whilst this was well managed, there was no social distancing when boarding or alighting. I think they need to be strict and do this by row. I flew Lufthansa recently who did this which was better although people don't always listen. I can understand that it is difficult to social distance all the time but we need to try our best. Highly recommend. Easy to check in online too"
