Or you can get there by flying to Johannesburg. It's about 5h if you go by car and through the Caladon's poort boarder post (which closes at 10pm). But if you get there afterwards Fiksberg boarder post is open 24h. Or just stay the night in Fouriesberg and give the Fouriesberg Inn Cellar a visit... always a favourite amoungst our crew.

I agree with travel routes given by the others just 1 piece of advice Lesotho roads although very good they tend to be narrow and because most of the route is around mountains I would not recommend you drive at night. Also due to the curves on the road expect to average 60~70km/h

Hi. Shortest road by car is to take the N1 North and just past Colesberg, turn right on the R701 (Gariepdam). Keep on the R701 past Wepener, Ladybrand and Ficksburg to Fouriesburg. From Fouriesburg the Caledonspoort border post is 8 km and from there about 80km to Afriski.

If you dont want to stay at Afriski, Fouriesburg has nice guesthouses.

Regards

Fanie
