Mill Houses Elegant Suites Questions & Answers

Saint Louis, Missouri

My husband and I are planning à anniversary trip Oct 24 to Oct 26 2015. Based on reviews I would love to stay at Mill house. Based on some of the reviews....can you suggest a studio room number that we can book in advance that posses the following qualities..

Sea view

Terrace or balcony

Higher floor...I do have problems with my knees...so less stairs would be nice but not a absolute must

Would also like to be on main property nearer to pool...even tho pool may be closed that time of year.

Now I have a few questions...

Do you rent cars? What about a drivers license for driving in Santorini..is it hard to get one or is one from the USA OK to use?

Also, I Think our flight will arrive from Athens around 10am...do you have early check in or baggage holding till we can actually check in? I understand there may be an early check in fee..if so ..what is that cost?

I also see you have free transportation to/from airport..how much advance notice do you need?

I think that about does it. Looking forward to hearing from you..so I can get my room booked.

Thank you

Hi, I will try address your questions =)

The staff was super accommodating for us. If you e-mail them in advance, they will provide ample information regarding a room. (I had a similar concern and was reassured both via e-mail prior to our trip and again once we arrived). We stayed in the honeymoon suite next to the pool.

Also if you e-mail them in advance to provide your arrival time and information, I am sure they will accommodate as well. Our flight did not leave until 5pm on our final day and they let us stay in our room until the last moment, which was so, so generous of them. (I believe it depends upon availability, though). They will definitely hold your bags for you.

The staff also booked our rental car for us at a competitive rate ($30/day) and I used my CA driver's license with no problem. They have both automatic and manual options (other places in Europe only had manual when we traveled there). The island is so beautiful to drive through and it really is a stunning option to rent a car and have the freedom to go any place you please (And it is quite small and easily maneuverable, 43 miles coast to coast)! And parking is easy and free on the island! They recommend (as do I) taking a bus tour of the island, then renting a car to drive to the places you want to explore further, which we did and it was so wonderful!

Finally, have the best time ever!!! It is such a magical place. Hope this helps!

Hi Debbi,

We had room 106 (studio) it was on the inside by the pool. To see the sea view/sunset we had to use the common terrace. I'm not sure about the other studio rooms so don't think I can help there.

There are rooms on the floor above the pool level perhaps you could request for those.

All the hotels in Fifa/firostefani/oia are a climb down from the main road as the hotels are on the hill side. Mill houses is around a 130 steps climb down.

mill houses will hold your baggage in case you come in early - I'm sure they will accommodate your early check in request if you ask. They gave us complimentary pick up and drop from the santorini port ( i asked them a pick up day before our arrival) I'm pretty certain they will pick you up from the airport as well...

Renting a carbin Santorini is pretty easy all you need is an international driving license ( issues by the usa) Renting from the local rent a car shops ( not hertz etc) is cheaper and you can negotiate. You should be able to rent a hath back for about euro 35-40 depending on the car

Hope this helps l! Mohit
